Perched atop the hill, this majestic medieval castle overlooks the sprawling lands below. It's like stepping back in time, the ancient stones holding echoes of history. As the clouds dance across the sky, the castle stands firm, a testament to the architectural prowess of a bygone era.
The fabulously swerving road into and along Iceland's Westfjords lined for kilometres on end with fences between pastures for mainly Icelandic horses.
Happy Fence Friday!
Still going through so many files for my new website I came across this photo shoot with many unprocessed images. I just had to stop everything and stitch these frames together.
I loved the serenity captured at this crack-of-dawn moment. So peaceful!
This is a panoramic view stitched together from 3 horizontal full-frame captures exposed at 30s ea.
Have a great weekend everyone!

P1060184 - Robber fly with prey
# 074
The Asilidae are the Robber fly family, also called assassin flies. They are powerfully built, bristly flies with a short, stout proboscis enclosing the sharp, sucking hypopharynx.
The name "Robber flies" reflects their notoriously aggressive predatory habits; they feed mainly or exclusively on other insects and as a rule they wait in ambush and catch their prey in flight. (wikipedia)

Hampton Court bridge spanning the river Thames. The intense cloud cover did not allow for a starry night surrounding but the bridge provided its own stars :)

Jökulsá á Fjöllum river in Northeast Iceland creates three of the most stunning waterfalls in Iceland: Dettifoss - Europe's mightiest waterfall, Selfoss, another beautiful yet small fall and Aldeyarfoss, a wonder of columnar basalt surrounding a waterfall. The river rushes through a mighty gorge which itself is mainly formed by volcanic columnar basalt. The stretch of the river seen in this image is situated between Dettifoss and Selfoss and the bend makes it look even more beautiful.
Beauty of España is the different vibe, character, sights and importantly it's people we meet from city to city. Always find ourselves back in Toledo when traveling back to Spain..
Frame shoot wanted to get the historic Rio Tagus in the shoot.
i stood on the edge of zahara de la sierra, where the mountains crack open like time itself. the lake below, still as a breath held in silence, reflects the passing clouds like fleeting thoughts. between light and shadow, between motion and memory – this moment felt like a quiet exhale from the earth. i didn't take this photo, it happened to me.
Glen Coe is a glen of volcanic origins, in the Highlands of Scotland. It lies in the north of Argyll, close to the border with Lochaber. It is often considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Scotland, and is a part of the designated National Scenic Area of Ben Nevis and Glen Coe.
Glen Coe offers craggy mountains, ancient forest and classical glacial valleys.

Iceland's skies appear to be deeply and wildly in love with its fjords and coastal landscapes as it would seem. Every time we arrived at some coastal stretch we saw the most wild and beautiful cloudscapes.
Happy Monochrome Monday!
Yesterday morning in the Bernese Oberland. After a starry night I saw a thick, grey cloud cover coming in from the west. Fortunately it wasn’t too fast and I could witness this colorful daybreak.

The Laguna Garzón Bridge in Uruguay is a 202-meter circular structure designed by Rafael Viñoly. It connects the department of Rocha (East) with Maldonado (West), crossing the Laguna Garzón—a body of water separated from the Atlantic Ocean by a narrow strip of sand.
Its unusual ring shape serves two main purposes: it inherently forces drivers to slow down for safety and transforms the crossing into a pedestrian-friendly public space with panoramic views. Engineered with widely spaced pillars, the design also minimizes continuous water shading, protecting the lagoon's fragile ecosystem and its status as an Important Bird Area. In the distance, toward the upper left, the seaside resort of José Ignacio can be seen.
a capture I took on our way from Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon towards Hoefn in Southeast Iceland. Those mighty mountains with their amazing structures and phenomenal twists and bends are so wonderful, I will never tire to admire and photograph them.
