The Painted Panels
On the back of the choir stalls there are four sets of painted panels.
One depicts the twelve apostles, each with a section of the Creed. The other three illustrate the lives of three saints, namely St Anthony of Egypt, the founder of monasticism, St Augustine of Hippo, who was considered to be the founder of the Augustinian Canons, and St Cuthbert of Lindisfarne, who visited Carlisle in the years 685 and 686. The texts of the lives of these saints are written in Anglo-Saxon. The panels were painted in about 1485 – 90, and one of them bears the monogram of Prior Gondibour.

Floreda Neda’s panel depicts her experiences with begging in the streets of Strasbourg. Life in Romania was very difficult for Florea and her husband. Although she has been in France for 20 years, Florea has not found a stable job. Begging is the only means she has to support her six children and grandchildren. She has no other option but to ask for money in the streets or at churches. For Florea, begging is extremely fatiguing, depressing, and dehumanizing. The quilt project is the first regular job Floreda has had since her arrival in France. She hopes the project will lead to additional opportunities to improve her and her family’s lives.
These sidelight panels were made using the homeowner's antique fabric that was originally from panels her Grandmother once had.

Day 5, October 4, 2013. Final day of the installation begins with the crew stacking solar panels on the front porch in readiness of moving them to the roof.
Panel 36 of the the Menin Gate Meorial to the Missing, lists the names of the officiers and men of the Durham Light Infantry who fell in the Ypres Salient during WW1 and have no known grave.

Pregnant Buffalo Panel 3
The Pregnant Buffalo panel is a very nice panel due to the rare pregnant buffalo as well as the colorful pictograph in the upper right section that is seen in this photo. It is near the Big Buffalo panel on the east wall of Cottonwood Canyon where it enters Nine Mile Canyon.
Nine Mile Canyon is actually a 40 mile long canyon in Carbon and Duchesne Counties in Utah. It is in the Fremont cultural complex area of Utah, but much disagreement exists as to the stylistic classification of individual panels, as many different groups visited Nine Mile Canyon over some 6,000 years, from the Archaic period to to the historic Utes. The Numic speaking Utes are thought to have replaced the Fremont, who may have been related to modern day Hopi in Arizona and other Puebloan people, especially the Jemez people of New Mexico, but there is much disagreement on that point as well. The Fremont were thought to be in the canyon from from about A.D. 1050-1250 (1300), but the Fremont culture prospered in Utah from about A.D. 250 to about A.D. 1250. The petroglyphs in Nine Mile Canyon bear little resemblance to the nearby "Classic Vernal Style" Fremont drawings or others found in Capitol Reef and other areas of south western central Utah.
