Three years of study at the Architectural Stained Glass Department at Swansea culminated in the degree show, with each student (usually fewer in number by now than at the start!) allocated a window space in the building to display their work, with a mixture of panels representing the various techniques explored and styles developed by each individual.
I usually took a full set of photos of each show (I was known for being obsessive compulsive with a camera even then!) and felt uploading the full set best represents the range of talents and ideas, in many cases of people who never worked in the medium in post-college life.
If any of my contemporaries are looking in I hope they will be flattered and see this as a tribute to their achievements. If for any reason anyone is unhappy about their work being shared online do please let me know.
The first step of the installation process is to space your wooden or steel corner and line posts at distances of eight feet when you insert them in order to provide the feedlot panels with full support. Using the appropriate equipment such as a post hole digger, dig holes and drive the wooden posts no less than 18 inches into the ground. The steel posts should be installed at least 12 inches into the ground using a handheld post driver.
One original panel survived the fire of 2007. I have re fitted it along with some plywood blanks. I need to trim and adjust these before the final ones are made from thicker plywood and then laminated.

The Diversity Council of Lewis and Clark Community College presented a comparative religion panel, entitled “Appreciating Our Neighbors,” from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the Ann Whitney Olin Theater inside the Hatheway Cultural Center on L&C’s Godfrey campus.
This panel represents the "Plastification of the Creative Power by Union with Plastic Tradition of the South."
Rivera merges the culture and plastic arts of the South, with the industrial arts of the North in this dual-faced incarnation of the Aztec god Coatlicue.
The man carving a wood sculpture of a ram is Dudley C. Carter, a friend of Rivera. The ram became the mascot of City College.
