South Superstar, 2002 make of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), Erode (ED) WAP-4, palindrome # 22522, showcasing thunderous honking and speed show as Off-link with bang on time running, Yesvantpur bound, 12650 Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express. This is first Sampark Kranti for Karnataka out of 3 Sampark Kranti and it runs via Kacheguda. Erode WAP-4 was good surprise for us with this train as this is normally seen with Lallaguda WAP-7 till Kacheguda after which Krishnarajapuram EMD takes over. Erode Loco shed is one of the largest key holder of WAP-4 locomotives along with Howrah, Vadodara and Lallaguda. Notice monkey seating on tracks, walked away after seeing red monster.

It's Palindrome Day. "The first time in 900 years that the date has been the same backwards as forwards for everyone in the world". That is an over-simplification, of course; it's only true of the Christian and secular calendars. Many are making hay with the US-vs-European dichotomy of MM-DD-YYYY vs DD-MM-YYYY, but actually if you want to arrange stuff in date order you want neither of those. Ask any I.T. bod, or indeed anyone who has actually thought about it. Ladies and Gentlemen ... I give you ... not 02022020 but 20200202. YYYYMMDD.

But that's not all. I fully intend to revisit the palindrome to still better effect at 2.02am on Feb 20th, in real time with added HHMM. So there. (Even although at that moment it will still be the 19th in the Americas. Okaaay.)

We are in a series of palindromic dates. Today is 51515 (US convention)

Day 2 of 365 (Year Four)

So yesterday was the first day of 2010, New Year's Day. That, however, pales in comparison with today. The date won't do this again until November 2011 if I've figured it out right and then again on December 02, 2012. After that I think it will be quite some time until we see this again. New Years happens ever year at the same time, but a palindromey date day only comes along every so often. So Happy Palindrome Day!

BTW, I was torn on the color of the text and ran through several versions and just couldn't decide. Thanks to Panatone, however, I was finally able to pick a color that at least had some meaning. According to the good folks over at Panatone, the color I used is the Color Of The Year for 2010. So in case you were wondering, Turquoise (specifically PANTONE 15-5519) is the color of the year for 2010.

For those suffering from arthritis in the spine, palindromic arthritis, viral arthritis, and/or cervical arthritis, coping techniques are simply not the answer. Lumbar arthritis, shoulder arthritis, viral arthritis, and/or psoriasis arthritis sufferers, for example, desire permanent arthritis...

La porte au palindrome "sator arepo tenet opera rotas" c'est aussi des mots carrés.

The term might not exist - but it should do for places like Ermesinde! I was most surprised to be greeted with this futuristic design after arriving from the airport.

#27/365

I welcome feedback on my pics, especially criticism! Help me get better!

Choose a song and have fun :)

50005 'Collingwood' leaves Exeter St Davids on 29th August 1984 with a train for the west.

50001 to 50013 were selected from the battleships which were members of the Grand Fleet of 1914 which all, with the exception of "Dreadnought", were involved in the Battle of Jutland. This battle took place on May 31st 1916 and was the largest naval action of the First World War. None of these warships survived to see action in World War Two.

I took this with BonnieJean's Iphone.

Mama has what we call "the Pryor girls' hair". Pryor is her mother's maiden name. All of the women descendants have thick, glossy, healthy hair that either waves or curls. I don't know if you can tell from such a close up shot, but Mama's hair waves at the ends.

Mama's hair has been going gray for a couple of years now. I say gray--it's more silver. I think it's even prettier now with so much silver than it has been in the past. I'm so glad she's not one of those ladies who dyes their hair.

Something you cannot tell from the picture is that Mama's hair is also very soft. She prefers to fix her hair and then spray it with hairspray, but Dad doesn't like the texture of it when it has hairspray in it. He plays with her hair a lot. So, she goes without styling most of the time.

A palindromic unit! Northern Rails’ EMU 323 232 takes the slow line at Acton Bridge station as she heads back to Longsight.

The working was 5Q32 Allerton Depot - Longsight TMQ.

Not sure what the reason behind the working was, I’d normally say that perhaps the unit had been for wheel turning on their lathe but I wouldn’t know these days.

Assignment: Me or D n I Lap? Make a Palindrome Photo; This is TDC number 767, a number the same forward as backwards. Create a photo that represents in a visual interpretation of a palindrome.

In honor of the most-unsettling number "13" I give you a glimpse into hell, where the keyboards contain both the "natural" and the "unnatural" palindromes. You've got a "cmd" key on both sides, but you also have "W" conveniently located on both sides. And don't even try to send for HELP because "L" and "P" are not to be found.

I am grateful to WiredRyo for posting the original image. I pulled his photo into MS Publisher and used the Windows snipping tool (my image "Swiss Army Knife") to copy the text from each key on the left and paste it to the right... yep, one at a time. I then used the picture format tools to adjust the contrast, brightness and to recolor it that fiery red....mwahahahaha!!
