On weekends with nice weather the waterfowl on the bay are often moved around by paddleboarders and kayakers, even when they seem relatively far away (to us). But sometimes, as this group, they seem to move around without apparent stimulus.
See adjacent photo for a split-second later.

The Yarra River often looks totally muddy in colour but this day was fine and bright so the water looked blue. I was surprised to see this man on the Paddle-board. However, shortly after a group paddle-boarded past. In the background are the rowing clubs that normally practise up and down the Yarra River. You wouldn't think that you are in the centre of Melbourne from this photo.
Was trying out a new lens at Key West Beach. It's a TTartisan 50 mm lense. It's fully manual and I don't think it provides EXIF data. My first impression is that it is a quality lense. I liked the pattern of this dry seaweed on the limestone. Once the tide comes in it will start to become beautiful flowing seaweed. I liked the surf and paddleboarder in the background.
These paddleboarders knew the whales were nearby and were probably hoping to get close to the whales (Megaptera novaeangliae). But one never really knows where they will surface. The whales were feeding on small fish near the Avila Pier, with many spectators on the pier and the beach watching.

Durdle Door is arguably the most recognisable face along the entirety of Dorset's south coast. Upon seeing it for the first time, I did marvel at nature's ability to draw visitors, with something as simple as an arch-shaped rock barely barely dipping its feet in the water. It was cool, though - and far bigger than I was expecting. The paddleboarder to the right of the 'doorway' does well to demonstrate the scale.
Queen of the Southbay Surf Meet
Determination, athleticism, and camaraderie were on display at the Southbay Boardriders Club staging of the Queen of the Southbay Surf Meet El Porto, California.
Southbay Boardriders Club puts on amazing events for talented surfers and paddleboarders of all ages throughout the year.
got to watch the sunset from Lighthouse Park last evening. The skies are smoky here from all the fires, makes for some beautiful skies, lots of boaters and paddleboarders out enjoying the warm weather which is much more bearable in the later hours.
Sunrise, Paddleboarders and Boats from the Esplanade at Ettalong Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.
There was lots of action on the Sauble River on a beautiful Sunday afternoon paddle. when the weather felt like summer..... caught these two stand up paddleboarders in front of the falls.
Not too keen about it turning colder (and often wetter), neither do I look forward to the shorter days, but as Autumn kicks in, I do like the richer colours that almost glow when the sun shines
I spied, with my little eye, some gorgeous scenes this last week in the Lake District.
Nice sky as the sun went down at Compton Bay, Isle of Wight. Always a great place to just sit and watch.

Another beautiful sunrise this morning on what is perhaps going to be the hottest day of the year. Plenty of people were out by 6a.m. -swimming, running, taking their dogs for a walk , photographing the sky and these paddleboarders drifting through an apricot and silver sea.
On the rugged San Agustín coast, this weathered WWII bunker stands guard over the Atlantic—stoic, sun-bleached, and slightly baffled by the speedos and sangria of modern Gran Canaria. Once a lookout for invaders, now more likely to spot paddleboarders and parasails. Time really does change the view.
A gorgeous hazy sunset over Poole harbour tonight and some lovely warm water. Shorts on and bare feet for me and into the water as well.
It was all go on Ladybower Reservoir this evening. Paddle boarders, boats, a bridge, a jetty and fishermen. Just one thing missing; a half decent sunset!
47/52: I didn’t get that nice morning red burn for sunrise but if this photo doesn’t scream San Diego I don’t know what does. Not too shabby for January weather.
I was set up for some longer exposure shots but when I saw these paddleboarders approaching I removed my ND filter and cranked up the shutter speed. I was lucky to get the seagull in frame as well.
