Making the most of the spring sunshine: A paddleboarder makes his way across a mirror-like Llyn Padarn on Sunday morning.
Canon full frame 300L to Snapseed for vintage and crop.
Composed for “rule of thirds” and the subjective “tension” between the young paddleboarder and his watchful Dad.
Taking a break from posting my photographs from this year's visit to Cornwall to catch up with some of the stuff I've done since we got back home.
This photograph, taken down on Sunderland's seafront, featured in The Times newspaper. The sea conditions were remarkably calm and proved just perfect for these two paddle boarders.

When I get asked if I have any rules of composition for my photos, I say "Yes, balance and simplicity"

Over-exposed, but in this case I think it looks ok.

Proud to be 50
Glad to be 50
Lucky to be 50
Sad to be in lock down, but so is the whole world. what a 50th birthday, one I won't forget.
But so glad I have my health
my wonderful boys and my Daisy Bear.
I don't particularly feel comfortable in front of a camera and relish being behind it. I was cleaning my lenses and as usual Daisy pushed her way in for a cuddle, so I set the timer. Two shots and I got this.
I haven't brushed my hair, my hair band is on my wrist, my make up is at a minimal I'm in an old pair of shorts and top, my welly socks and wellies are strewn to one side as I had just finished tending my veggies and greenhouse. Me and Daisy were about to go on a Butterfly mission as my garden has an abundance of Peacock Butterflies. She tries to chase them and yet somehow she's not realising she'll never get one and I won't capture an image of one either if she keeps chasing them.

Two persons paddling themselves on boards along the water, divided by what appears to be a line. Taken from my window, it is actually one of the Hydro wires which cut into my view.
Free as a bird out on the sea and having wonderful fun, I presume!

On weekends with nice weather the waterfowl on the bay are often moved around by paddleboarders and kayakers, even when they seem relatively far away (to us). But sometimes, as this group, they seem to move around without apparent stimulus.
See adjacent photo for a split-second later.

The Yarra River often looks totally muddy in colour but this day was fine and bright so the water looked blue. I was surprised to see this man on the Paddle-board. However, shortly after a group paddle-boarded past. In the background are the rowing clubs that normally practise up and down the Yarra River. You wouldn't think that you are in the centre of Melbourne from this photo.
Was trying out a new lens at Key West Beach. It's a TTartisan 50 mm lense. It's fully manual and I don't think it provides EXIF data. My first impression is that it is a quality lense. I liked the pattern of this dry seaweed on the limestone. Once the tide comes in it will start to become beautiful flowing seaweed. I liked the surf and paddleboarder in the background.
Lens: Canon EF-S 10-18 mm f/4.5-5.6 Wide Angle IS STM Lens.
Durdle Door is arguably the most recognisable face along the entirety of Dorset's south coast. Upon seeing it for the first time, I did marvel at nature's ability to draw visitors, with something as simple as an arch-shaped rock barely barely dipping its feet in the water. It was cool, though - and far bigger than I was expecting. The paddleboarder to the right of the 'doorway' does well to demonstrate the scale.
Queen of the Southbay Surf Meet
Determination, athleticism, and camaraderie were on display at the Southbay Boardriders Club staging of the Queen of the Southbay Surf Meet El Porto, California.
Southbay Boardriders Club puts on amazing events for talented surfers and paddleboarders of all ages throughout the year.
got to watch the sunset from Lighthouse Park last evening. The skies are smoky here from all the fires, makes for some beautiful skies, lots of boaters and paddleboarders out enjoying the warm weather which is much more bearable in the later hours.
Sunrise, Paddleboarders and Boats from the Esplanade at Ettalong Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.
There was lots of action on the Sauble River on a beautiful Sunday afternoon paddle. when the weather felt like summer..... caught these two stand up paddleboarders in front of the falls.
