A special thanks to all my Flickr friends and visitors, for taking the time to view and acknowledge my photography.
I would also, like to extend my thanks, to all those who place my images in their beautiful galleries, or use my images for their covers.
Additionally, I am truly humbled to receive so many thoughtful and generous testimonies. I cannot express how deeply touched and honoured I am, to find such caring and beautifully written words left on my behalf.

I stood on the pier overhead an approaching paddle boarder and took this shot.
I then used some artistic filters to create this effect.
Warm glow of the late sun reflects off the paddler and anchored boat.
This image runs 'Hot and Cold'
Warm evening light, accentuates the boarder's skin tones and lights up the boat, yet contrasts with the icy blue tones and the snow peaked, Mount Baker background.
Mt Baker also known as Koma Kulshan or simply Kulshan, is an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington in the United States. (Wikipedia)

Taken from the back seat in a tourist minivan passing a beach in Israel Sept 2012. At the time I wondered if he was wishing he was out with the paddle boarders in the Mediterranean. Now sitting at home I'm wishing we will be able to walk again in other lands.
Please forgive the archive digging and I hope the holiday season will go well for you wherever you are!
Paddleboarding - it been around longer than you think.
Ships Artist John Webber accompanied Captain James Cook to the Sandwich Islands in 1778, and in the lower left foreground of his 1781 engraving is depicted a paddleboarder surfer.
Exeter Quay, Exeter, devon, UK.
A partial view of Austin's ever-changing skyline. Emblazoned atop the 29-story skyscraper at center is the multi-colored Google logo. The company, a presence in Austin since 2007, now has over 1,100 employees in the city, with more expansion on the horizon. In 2023, the search-engine giant will move into a 35-story skyscraper now under construction along the riverfront.
In the foreground is common site of kayakers paddling along the Colorado River in the heart of the city.
I like the abstract patterns of melting ice and open water here on Tioga Lake. Two paddle boarders have ventured out to navigate the open water -- I hope they did not fall in!
Tioga Lake is east of the entrance to Yosemite National Park, at elevation 9,638 ft (2,938 m).
Hope your week is off to a good start. Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.

Not the box of matches, a regular paddle boarder has his early morning bond feeding the swans! Another from the other day. The elevated position on the banking gave more depth to the view. Norfolk Island and a misty Silver Point in the background.
One of the Hottest Temperatures on Earth Recorded in Death Valley Sunday
August 17, 2020
A temperature of 130 degrees was recorded in Death Valley on Sunday, one of the hottest temperatures ever recorded on the planet.
Incoming tide :
M60 is waiting for another foot of water, to come into harbour and discharge her catch of shellfish : the paddleboarders have more than enough depth to enjoy their sport.
This is the lighthouse at Beachy Head, just west of Eastbourne on the UK south coast. Shot early one morning with a DJI Mavic Pro Platinum drone, I loved the paddleboarders and the red of the top of the lighthouse against the green-blue sea. The tide was in covering up the rocky shore and remains of the old walkway which are still visible underwater but which are exposed at low tide. The two small circular shapes to the right are the modern signal lamps which have replaced the main light and very impressive original Fresnel lens which was decommissioned in February 2011. The cliffs in that area used to be a regular haunt for photography back in the 1990s and I have fond memories of cliffs lit up by the revolving light from the 1st order catadioptric lens at dusk whilst photographing the sunset and the afterglow.
Just a little higher viewpoint
can give the beautiful perspective of a bird's eye view. Like a bird flying up above and looking down on the scene.
A perfect timing and ideal weather for watersports activities such as paddling and the adventurous parasailing umbrella.
I like the simplicity of this paddleboarder in the curl of a single wave during a smooth ride; Morro Bay; CA; USA
These standup paddleboarders are on Lake Lucerne near the tiny village of Hertenstein. I was fascinated by the October light, and I suspect they were too. The looming mountain massif toward which the paddlers are looking is the Pilatus. Its highest peak is the Tomliinshorn. You can take the world's steepest cog railway to the top.
Location: Near Hertenstein, Weggis, on Lake Lucerne, Canton Lucerne, Switzerland.

A pier, a picnic site, and spectacular views! HBM!
Porteau cove is a great stop on the sea-to-sky highway.[...]. The ferry dock is sturdy, and has nice vantage points to climb up on. [...].
Porteau Cove Provincial Park is an oceanfront haven for scuba divers, kayakers, stand-up paddleboarders, beachcombers and those just looking for a place to relax by the shore. It's a little bit of oceanfront paradise just minutes from Squamish.
The 56-hectare park offers a ton of exploring through its driftwood beaches, tidal and intertidal marine life, sunken ships, artificial reefs, picnic areas and pebble beaches, plus 44 drive-in and 16 walk-in campsites
On the fairly mild waves at New Brighton Beach near the pier. The sky and sea were a light greeny blue with lots of white clouds. The Paddleboarder managed to get on top of his board and tried to surf/paddle down the waves. (For Definitely Dreaming Week 40 theme of "on top of")
The last time I was here, 3 years ago, I went out for a dawn photoshoot (the dawn had spectacular colours) and ended up falling into the sea with camera. Needless to say the camera didn't survive. I was a bit more careful this time!
While the weather remains overcast and coolish, it is better than Melbourne which has drenching rain again and flood watch in the regional areas.
