this is the struggle
to be better than we are
to reach the unattainable
to see our beauty as others do.
these are the bones we build, break,
and reset, until they become twisted and gnarled
and grow the way we want them to.
this is the switch that wont shut off,
the brain that wont shut up,
the nights that will not sleep
this is the soul that cannot speak.
and all you can utter is
"free me, free me, free me"

It seems so surreal that in less than two months I will have finished my first year of university. And, I finally have a plan and a series of goals for the next five and a half years. But there are still a few kinks and creases to iron out. But still, it makes me feel more comfortable knowing that I have a path to follow.

Captured in the quiet hours past midnight on July 3, 2023, this panorama, taken from the cul-de-sac of my cherished home, reveals the red-hued residence next to my blessed White House, all under a deep blue sky illuminated by the full moon. These iconic colors of the United States stand as reminders of the liberty, unity, and justice upon which this nation was built.
Yet, on this upcoming Independence Day, our nation faces its gravest dangers ever—a constitutional democratic republic at risk of being overtaken by a shockingly sizable minority embracing themes rooted in fascism and Nazi ideology. This is a darkness we cannot afford to let creep in.
Now, more than ever, true patriots—the silent majority of Americans—must rise to protect democracy. The ideals that unite us as a people are stronger than the forces seeking to divide us. This image is not just a reflection of the beauty of our land; it is a call to action to ensure democracy prevails.
Democracy dies in darkness, but its light endures when vigilant citizens stand up against tyranny. Let this full moon and the timeless red, white, and blue inspire us to reclaim and uphold the freedom envisioned by our founding fathers for generations to come.
