Last July I was invited to an air show, it was fantastic and I really enjoyed photographing the aircraft.
This is the AeroSuperBatic wing walking team. They have performed around the world and are the Guinness World Record holders, They were amazing to watch. Unfortunately one of the planes suffered technical problems and crashed into the sea at the Bournmouth Air Festival two months later. Miraculously the pilot and lady wing walker escaped serious injury and thanks to the pilots expertise the plane just missed hitting the harbour and boats. The Air Accidents Branch say it could be up to a year before they share its findings.
“So, what are you worried about, Sky?” Asked Barnaby as the bears gathered around for the man to take their photograph.
“Quite a lot, Barnaby. Honey supplies for a start.”
“Honey supplies, Sky? What is the problem?” Asked Bertie also looking concerned.
“It all comes down to the man. He is trying different places where he gets his food from using the complonker. He uses new digits to order and while I have watched and think I have the new ones I was not sure.”
“Sky, the man had the usual van deliver his things last week, I saw it there and was waiting for our stuff but it did not come.” Said Posh Bear.
“No, it is all getting confusing. The man seems to be ordering from both the new one and the old one, which makes it difficult for me to know which one to add our things to. Anyway, I think the man is going bonkers.” Said Sky.
“I quite agree, Sky, but then we have always thought that.” Said Bertie smiling.
“No, I mean totally bonkers, Bertie. When the man had a friend around here recently, I noticed that they were both talking to a green growing plant his has. He has even given it a name and was calling it Vera and he was saying hello to it. It didn’t answer, and his friend even tried but the plant ignored them.”
“Are you sure, Sky?” Asked Posh Bear looking worried.
“Yes, they both kept on saying hello Vera to this plant. Is that weird or what? Then he starts ordering his things from two suppliers.”
“That is very strange behaviour, Sky, I agree. I wonder why he called it Vera? Why not Sky, Bertie, Theo, or Posh, like we are called? Why give the green thing that grows a name at all? All very strange, but not that important to us bears. Now, the possible lack of honey, well that is different.” Said Posh Bear.
“Luckily Posh, we have a genius at the helm of ordering, and I have taken measures to make certain that we still can order from now on.”
“Sky is such a genius.” Said Barnaby looking in admiration at his friend.
“I know, Barnaby, but as I was saying.” Said Sky
“So modest with it too.” Chimed in Bertie giggling.
“As I was saying, I am now ordering from both suppliers, however, there is a slight problem in that if they both supply, we may have a little more than normal.”
“You say a little more, Sky, roughly how much more?” Asked Posh Bear.
“Well, just in case one supplier did not send us what we ordered, I added extra to both orders. Well, I think I did for I was never much good at numbers, so, well I think we had better make extra room to store what comes.”
“So, is it fair to say that you do not know what you ordered then, Sky?” Asked Bertie.
“Well, I am not totally sure, Bertie, but if you need to know I am sure that Vera would know for she was looking at the screen as I did the ordering. So, do you speak green growing thingy, Bertie?”
“Time will tell, Bertie, we will soon find out.” Said Posh Bear smiling.
I’m so fucking happy all time
Also, I’m really good at telling lies
My friends they always call me for advice
But they don’t know
I’ve been crying
For the past seven nights
This happens every single time I’m drinking
Like I can finally hear the thoughts I’m thinking
Fake bitch, fake bitch
Running from her problems
But she makes it look so good when she ignores them
And she puts them on a shelf
And she whispers to herself
It’s okay, bitch
Don’t ever change, bitch
Sorry that I didn’t say goodbye
Life’s a bitch, but so am I

What started out as pleasant and leisurely morning stroll in the garden, quickly developed into a perilous and risky outing. Brian soon found himself wishing he had accepted the invitation to go hang-gliding with his friends...

No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph. At no time did the snail come into contact with the sharp points of the barbed wire.
This was a mistake in exposure as I am having problems with the connection between my Canon 5DSR and the Sigma Art lens and it overexposed the shot quite dramatically. I did intend to bin the shot but then played around and quite liked it - very much a Marmite shot!!
I had a major problem with privacy settings on my sets. This image (and some others) LOST ALL FAVes. Unfortunately Flickr support refused and were unable to solve the problem :(
My sincere apologies to all flickr members and groups that added this picture.

Just like Sherlock Holmes, Baby Brian loves solving puzzles. "The Final Problem" is a short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring his detective character Sherlock Holmes. It was first published under the title "The Adventure of the Final Problem" in December 1893.

I have seen this Agile wallaby in my backyard a few times. I have spoken to the local wildlife carer and he said that the missing arm and the deformed arm was probably caused by a dingo attack. She must find it difficult to get around because they do use their arms for mobility when they are not hopping with their legs and also cleaning themselves.

e ne ho tranciato i rami.

“I return to problems i can't solve, not because i am an idiot, but because the real problems can't be solved. The universe is expanding. The more we see, the more we discover there is to see. Always a new beginning, a different end.”
― Jeanette Winterson, Weight: The Myth of Atlas and Heracles.
A couple of images that I made which explore “the Seeker” archetype, one that resonates deeply for me, as I feel most alive when my mind is on fire with the wonder of discovery.
Not the solution to a problem, but one of the many causes.
Union Pacific's new Roseville, California to Los Angeles, California (Fourth Street) manifest blasts through the west switch at Thornton, with clear rails as it heads for the Fresno Subdivision at El Pinal as it's journey for the LA Basin continues after meeting the Interstate 5 Z-train at Phillips.
Big changes are on the horizon as, these trains are meant to act as a replacement for the LA Basin Hauler; as Union Pacific's efforts to transform the Hump Yard at West Colton into a Intermodal Ramp pick up the pace (should become a West Coast version of the Global 2/Proviso arrangement in Illinois). Once the train gets down to the Los Angeles area it will set-out it's Chino, Mira Loma and Kaiser area traffic at Montclair which is being heavily retrofitted as well before arriving at Fourth Street. Only time will tell if this is a good move in the long run, as Roseville which hasn't really had any modernization projects since the Southern Pacific days is hard pressed to get these trains; out let alone process and block out the new influx of loose car traffic from the far corners of the system.
At least the searchlights are here still, then again their time is also fast approaching..

During my preparations for a trip to Bryce Canyon, I chanced upon a hidden gem, Red Canyon. Nestled en route to Bryce, this lesser-known state park boasts a handful of hiking trails and a cozy campground. The particular trail that caught my eye was described as a showcase of Utah's unique red rock formations. Having already visited Bryce, I anticipated a similar sight, albeit with a twist.
Little did I know that Red Canyon would be a delightful surprise. The rocks here, a striking shade of red, outshine even the famed hues of Bryce, which lean more towards orange. The trails, though steep and technical, offered a thrilling adventure. Arriving well past sunrise, I had to be cautious not to overexpose the vibrant reds in my photos. In fact, it was a rare instance where I had to desaturate my images during post-processing.
The other night for my photo of the Ferris Wheel, I mentioned frustrations I was having with getting the IR remote shutter release working. I was determined to fix it or ditch it....and fix it I did. In celebration we had a Mexican dinner down at Redcliffe where I shot this scene of the quite low light on the Jetty across the road. It was only 6.00pm, we got away early. Winter!

The northbound I-5 corridor stacks, ZLCTM, makes its way across the Central Valley as it roars through Sheridan, CA. If this was 2020 this would’ve been a normal occurrence, however, over the past few years the ZLCTM has seen itself take the former WP to the west of the SP out of Stockton since it’s faster. Today though was a bit different since the train’s second motor, UP 6318, was having problems. After listening to the radio it sounded like the unit was having a fuel leak. This would cause UP 7071 to be put on in its place, and after the regularly scheduled crew change that normally would happen in Sacramento, the train got on the move again. But unfortunately for the crew, they would notice that the train’s two DPUs, an AC44 and SD70M, were having problems the moment they left the yard… how convenient. This became an even bigger problem as it was the AC44 with issues, meaning the SD70M may had also had issues acting as a DPU due to 70Ms having unusual DPU capabilities. After meeting with the Rocklin Rocket at the first siding north of Roseville, the train would stop for the Rocket crew to inspect it, and ultimately after talking with dispatch about what to do, the train would leave with two DPUs without working dynamics. During this whole time several trains were backed up including, MGRRV, MPDRV, INPOA, and the Z’s counterpart ZBRLC.
