One of a Zodiac series, on a late 1950-s or early 1960s Hereford tiles blank. As well as decorating their own tiles, they supplied blanks to decorators, who did not always mark each tile. So I am not sure of the artist in this case.

Truyền thuyết : Demeter, nữ thần Mùa màng cai quản tất cả cây trái của nhân gian, chỉ có một người con gái duy nhất với thần Zeus là nàng Persephone xinh đẹp. Một ngày, nàng đang mải hái hoa ngoài đồng thì mặt đất bỗng mở rộng ra và Hades, vua của Địa ngục, xuất hiện, bắt nàng đi trên một cỗ xe ngựa màu đen. Dù đã hết sức vùng vẫy nhưng Persephone vẫn ko cách nào thoát khỏi cánh tay lực lưỡng của thần Hades. Quá đau buồn và thương nhớ con gái yêu quý của mình đã bị mang về Địa ngục, Demeter bỏ đi ở ẩn trong một hang động. Kể từ khi không có bà, chẳng còn hoa trái nào có thể lớn lên nữa và mặt đất trở nên khô cằn, hoang vắng vô cùng. Zeus thấy vậy bèn ra lệnh cho thần mục đồng Hermes xuống yêu cầu Hades trả Persephone lại cho Demeter. Nhưng trong thời gian bị giam giữ, Persephone đã trót ăn vài hạt lựu, và bất kỳ ai đã nếm thứ gì của Địa ngục đều phải chịu số phận phải sống ở đó. Thấy Hermes buồn rầu trở về tay không, Zeus buộc phải triệu tập hội nghị 12 thần linh tối cao. Cuộc họp đã thống nhất cho phép Persephone mỗi năm sẽ chỉ được sống với mẹ trong 9 tháng, 3 tháng còn lại nàng phải về Địa ngục sống với chồng là thần Hades. Từ đó, hàng năm, tuân theo lời phán xử của Zeus, khi Persephone chia tay mẹ xuống sống với chồng, Demeter lại chìm lắng trong nhớ mong. Nàng mặc đồ tang, lá trên cây rụng hết, đồng ruộng trở nên trơ trụi, thiên nhiên như chìm vào giấc ngủ, đó là mùa Đông.... Để rồi lại bừng tỉnh dậy khi nàng Persephone xinh đẹp từ bỏ Địa ngục sâu thẳm của thần Hades, trở về với người mẹ thân yêu, đó là mùa Xuân.

A piece by Jason Hackenworth commissioned for the 2013 Edinburgh International Science Festival and suspended in the main hall of the National Museum Of Scotland.
I first learnt about it on the excellent Colossal blog, and of course it was probably photographed by everyone in Edinburgh over the Easter break. Still, I really couldn't help myself.

Pisces New Moon SoulCollage! my FIRST SoulCollage card! At last!
I've had the book "SoulCollage" for a few years now but couldn't get myself to make any, and when I did this card I realized why. I'm too literal - I can't shut off the part of my brain that wants to decipher everything BEFORE I make it. Since this was a card about Pisces New Moon energy (see www.newmoonjournal.com) I wanted to figure out what SHOULD go on the card and then put it there. But what I WANT from soulcollage is to create a card in a trance and then be surprised by the outcome. I did manage to somewhat do that with this, although I couldn't stop myself from putting the fish in there.
