Lots of people fishing today. I like to do crabbing at the end of that pier...maybe I'll go tomorrow. ;-)

The first cold morning of the season didn't stop me today. I made a plan and headed down to Sidney's landmark pier to take some photos.
With a little planning and an alarm clock I got some shots I'm really happy with.
I think the pier is normally a good 10-15 feet above the water, but on days like this, it's closed to the public because the waves are too high.
Another shot from Saltburn pier, this time looking back to the town.
Zero Image 6x9 MF loaded with Fuji Acros 100 developed in Rodinal. About a 7 second exposure.
A pier has been here since 1864. It has suffered from storm damage and fire throughout the years, hence why it is so short. I used to watch The Birdman of Bognor competition every year. I used to love the beach in general, and miss living by the sea. One day I will go back for good.
