Pier 9 on the older section of the Delaware River in Philadelphia.

Sometimes morning hours don't turn out as planned. However, we must remember to make the best of it.

Another edit of the old pier at Swanage in Dorset taken back in December. I've given it a different crop and colour edit than my previous shot. I don't really go over old images that often but been a bit slack with the camera this week so having a play around in Lightroom just to keep me occupied.

Sadly the pier was closed and it was a foggy overcast day. Didn't go home empty handed, though.

The Ventura Pier was originally built in 1872. The pier in its current form is 1,958 feet long and is believed to be one of the longest standing piers in California

In April 1865 The Eastbourne Pier Company was formed with a working capital of £15,000. Work began in April 1866; Four years later Lord Edward Cavendish opened the pier although it wasn’t completed until 1872.

The pier is 300 meters long and built on stilts, which rest in cups on the seabed allowing the whole structure to move during rough weather.

The piers entrance was originally built on the lower promenade but due to the rough storms in 1877 it was swept away; it was then rebuilt at a higher level. In 1888 a 400-seater domed pavilion was built and just two years later a 1000-seater theatre, Bar, Camera Obscura and Office Suite replaced it, that same year two saloons were built in the midway.

During the Second World War decking was removed to host machine guns to provide a useful advantage point to repel enemy landings. In December 1942, an exploding mine caused considerable damage to the pier and nearby hotels; it had been tied to the stanchions by the local police, who were under the mistaken impression that it was fitted with a safety device

Clevedon Pier is a seaside pier in the town of Clevedon, Somerset, England on the east shore of the Severn Estuary. It was described by Sir John Betjeman, as "the most beautiful pier in England" and was designated a Grade I listed building in 2001

Well, I can scratch another pier off my list! View large to sense the motion.

A panoramic perspective of Eastbourne Pier.

Luckily for me, most of the general public were on the pier itself, so I could take advantage of the open pebbled beach and capture this magnificent structure in all her regal beauty...

I hope you enjoy...

Saltburn Pier is a pier located in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Redcar and Cleveland and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. It is the last pier remaining in Yorkshire.

Also within this photo is the Saltburn Cliff Lift, which is a funicular railway taking passengers from the top of the cliff down to the beach.

The remains of the old WW1 Munitions Pier in Dalgetty Bay, Fife

From earlier tonight at the Berkeley marina. I'm really starting to like this pier.

Just got home from finding some snow to shoot, nothing at home but travel about eight miles North West and I found some. No time time to edit for today but enough snow images for a short series.

This is another shot from Worthing pier this time from the East side, I had to step back quite a bit to include the light panels along the pier decking which were picking up that light from the low sun. No filters .
