Stopped by the LEGO store and one of the clerks was just finishing up taking apart sets (SuperHeroes/Marvel, Ninjago, etc...) and he let me make my own Grab bag!

1st things I grabbed were tran-color pieces and any gold...

Unfortunately they don't put the figs in there.

Sorry for the bad picture, I didn't check it before I put my phone away.

Reichstag - Bundestag

I did this one like the original vintage--where all the pieces are made from the same material. She looks so sharp! And I painted the hat a soft cream color--I think the white was too harsh a contrast

#2287 of 6000

Detailed photos of the Cinderella and Lady Tremaine DFDC limited edition doll set that I bought on the release day (September 6, 2016) from my local Disney Store. There were only about 10 people who entered the raffle for the 18 doll sets available. My set is numbered #2287 of 6000. I didn't see any significant flaws when I inspected the set at the register. I didn't get a gift bag when I bought the set, but returned the next day and they gave me one. The set is still available online, and in some stores as of Friday September 9.

Cinderella does have teeth in her face mold. They are painted over to give the illusion of a closed mouth. But at the angle that her head is positioned, it is hard to see the painted over teeth, and the illusion is very convincing.

Cinderella is wearing dark pink high heels with articulated ankles. She has blemish on her cheek that looks like hair product that spilled onto her face. So I was able to wash it off when I took the cover off the display case. Her hair is stiff with hair product, so I decided to leave her hair alone after deboxing, even though it looks a bit messy, and some of her hair curls around her neck.

When I deboxed Lady Tremaine, I unpinned her skirt so it's much fuller. I also unpinned her scarf so it falls freely from her head. It is sewn to her hair. I left Cindy's skirt pinned together in the front (so it looks pleated), but I may free it later.

This is my favorite set in this year's Designer Collection, and has been since I first saw images of it. Cinderella looks even more beautiful in person than in photos. I love her hair color and her face. Lady Tremaine's outfit is outstanding, and is much better than the one on the 17 inch Limited Edition Lady Tremaine from 2012.

Joining more Prisms to form 3-D Stars. I tried out 4 and 5 Prisms joined with connectors. No glue is required and the assemblies are quite strong but also flexible. A cube can be added to the 4 Prisms assembly to stabilize the whole assembly. The Prisms are folded from 18 x 9cm Kami and the connectors from 9 x 4.5cm Kami.

Ancient Sardis......Sardis lies in the territory of ancient Lydia, at the foot of the Tumulus Mountains and overlooking the Hermus River plain, where evidence has been found of human activity as early as the Paleolithic period (ca. 50,000 B.C.). Recent excavations have focused on the Archaic era, particularly the 7th and 6th centuries B.C, when Sardis was the capital of the Lydian empire and at the height of its power, and on the Late Roman era, when the city was still flourishing. Bath and Gymnasium complex at Sardis Archaeological highlights of Archaic date include the royal burial mounds at Bin Tepe, city wall, and gold-working installation on Pactalus River; important monuments of Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine date include the temple of Artemis, bath-gymnasium complex, Jewish synagogue, and row of shops adjoining the synagogue. Over 11,000 objects have been inventoried by the Archaeological Exploration of Sardis since its founding in 1958; a selection of the more important finds are on display in the Archaeological Museum of Manisa. By the late second millennium B.C, a modest community existed at the foot of the acropolis. According to the ancient Greek historian Herodotus, the "sons of Heracles" founded a dynasty that remained in power for "505 years, son succeeding father from generation to generation till the time of Candaules" (from ca. 1185 to ca. 680 B.C.). By the early 7th century B.C, Sardis was the capital of a growing empire, with a distinct archaeological record. Temple of Artemis at Sardis During the Merman dynasty (ca. 680-547 B.C.), the empire reached its greatest geographical extent, stretching from the Aegean Sea to central Anatolia. Herodotus credits the Lydian kings with the invention of coinage (ca. 6th ceuntury BC.) and the construction of the great royal burial mounds at Bin Tepe, some 10 kilometers (6 miles) to the northwest of the acropolis. Kings Gyges and Croesus were particularly renowned for lavish gifts dedicated in Greek sanctuaries. In 547 B.C, Sardis was sacked by Cyrus the Great and remained under Persian control until 334 B.C, when it was captured by Alexander the Great. The city continued to flourish during Hellenistic and Roman times, when ambitious construction projects were initiated, including the temple of Artemis and bath-gymnasium complex. A section of the bath - gymnasium complex was later remodeled to accommodate a Jewish synagogue. This synagogue, now partially restored by the Harvard-Cornell Expedition, is the largest early synagogue yet excavated in the Mediterranean world. During the early Christian period Sardis became one of the Seven Churches which were mentioned by St. John in The Book of Revelation.

Thirty Pieces of Silver was an art installation in York St. Mary's comprising over a thousand silver objects. These include plates, spoons, candlesticks, etc. The artist, Cornelia Parker, collected and then flattened the silver pieces with a heavy roller.

The squashed objects are neatly arranged into thirty groups and immaculately suspended from the ceiling by fine wires, just above the ground so that they appear to hover.

Konica Autoreflex T3 | Konica AR Hexanon 57/1.2 | Fuji 100

I just got my Autoreflex T3 in today so I ran a quick roll through it and just roughly guessed on the metering since I don't have any mercury batteries handy and the camera is 100% mechanical aside from the meter. I tore apart the lens to fix an aperture issue, fixed the DOF preview on the T3 and de-yellowed the lens using a 51 UV LED flashlight and 3 sets of batteries. I'm still trying to figure out why the finder is focused past infinity when the lens is at the infinity marking.

Missing Pieces or .......

Just a little look into my life.

Just a little look into my life.

An older couple was relaxing on the beach, fishing and enjoying the day, with almost no one else around. Of course, I doubt they knew they'd be "immortalized" digitally that day. I had to, though, since it's really nice to look ahead and hope that one day I'll be able to relax like that, just having a great time on the beach, and it's also nice to reflect upon days like this, where I did what I like to do best....observe and capture pieces of life.

Various pieces of MOW equipment sit at Hagersville Ontario to so work on the SOR.

I come to you in pieces

So you can make me whole

ODC - MANY PIECES is topic for Tuesday April 13, 2021 - Another Chakra bracelet in the making!

changed the title to "in pieces" from "dismembered", which i think sounded a bit ghastly.

Progress #3 day 7.

Well, I am not stuck..... I am putting in pieces here, there and everywhere but not getting anywhere! I am finding and fitting pieces that I am not looking for and tossing others to their approximate locations hoping I can find them when I need them. I am feeling some panic setting in already! AND it is raining today so I could not escape into some gardening....woe is me! Billsville Mike is right, this is a tough puzzle!

On the upside I did find the last edge piece and the Damien Rice album 'O' has been keeping me company today.

Nose layers pre assembly. Due to the elongated shape of the nose, I decided to create half of the piece instead of trying to make the full piece. This will be molded and cast twice to make the full barrel.

More parts to sort through..... Some I know I can use to fix and/or complete some dolls in the rough...
