Scusatemi

The main theme is always the same.

A state industry, the crisis, privatization, closure and abandonment. Disfigurement environment and landscape.

The workshop presented here is a department of a factory whose relics, the collective memories, testimonies are hopelessly lost in the advance of disinterest and progress often erase the past.

And with the machinery we also lose the memory of the work that has been so important over the years and in the economic and social development

As in my previous work I can not add here any name because I should break a few rules.

Excuse me.

The most photographed rowing boats in the Lake District are subject to some more photos

This peacock lady was both - the reason of the beautiful posing of the peacock guy, but also the photo bomber! First I wasn't too happy about her between me and my model, but in the end I liked much the strange expression of her, it gives the photo an extra special touch. 😁

This is the first photo of a series that was taken with a Canon point in shoot that we launched on a weather balloon today. More to come, and video to boot. Enjoy.

2023 Photo 97/268: Altar, pulpit and lectern vestments; kneeling cushions, candlestick, candles, crosses, the baptismal font, banners and anything else moveable and pertaining to regular Christian worship, were all removed after the Maundy Thursday service and are replaced with a larger standing cross and a cross of votive candles for the noonday Good Friday worship service. All of the regular accoutrements, as well as some more festive decorations, will be back in place by Easter Sunday morning. Stay tuned. ©2023 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com

2023 Photo 98/267: It's called ICM, it's short for "intentional camera movement," and I'll be making some attempts at it. This is my first attempt -- or at least the first that's remotely publishable. These are early leaves from a hickory sapling in our woods. ©2023 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com

You were random couple that I've met on the street and had asked me to make the photo "just here". It was in Vinnitsa, Ukraine, summer 2016, but I had not published you those days, but only now I finally did it. Are you Ok guys ?

Yesterday our photo class had our class field trip to the Ventura Pier. 3 of the 5 students made it, which by Cal State University terms is a passing amount. I also invited a few locals from the area, including some pretty well-known names. So in attendance besides myself and “Ev” were Geoff, Sarah, Glen, Shad, and Wendall. Here's a photo of Ev and I in action courtesy of Geoff.

We had a great time just hanging out, shooting strangers, bouncing ideas off each other and basically waiting for the sun to set so we could get some shots. I took a few different shots, but I’m using this one today, and might sprinkle a few others shots along during the week.

And in case you missed yesterdays photo/announcement, I’m organizing a trip to Death Valley in April and have created a group dedicated to the planning and eventual photos of it. Feel free to join it for advice or to eventually see the photos.

Hope your Valentine’s Day was fruitful, stimulating, relaxing or at least non-sad. Don’t worry, love is out there. Just a matter of finding the right website.

art created from my photos

Original photos: 3 images from a parking garage in Butler, PA, overlaid with a photo of rust. (Note the double parking meter left of center.)

The garage has many iron or steel beams on the ceiling with hexagonal openings and painted a golden yellow.

Most of the original image was that golden color, but after the overlay, there were hints of violets and blues, so I added more subtle hints of those colors elsewhere in the composition to balance the colors.

The title "Iron Oxide" (or "ferrous oxide") is the scientific term for rust.

i recently learned that world famous photographer Mike Jones has lost photos, which he took during this fall season. what a bummer. but now this can happen to anyone and anytime. computers will crash and hard disk will fail. what should we do then? how many times and how often we should back up. what happens when that back up drive just becomes a brick where we have been saving years worth of photos? a nightmare scenario but worth a thought. Any input is highly appreciated.

my photos are available on my website .
