2023 photo 16/349 and Day 220 of The Boo: This is the photo I take when it’s rolling up to midnight and I'm desperate for a photo and Boo Boo Blackington the cairn terrier, sister of Tooth Barkington, is sacked out on the sofa between his mama and me — but it’s soooooooo hard to take an available-light photo at night of a scruffy black terrier, so here’s are some landmarks for identification: right front paw extended at lower left, nose at far right, tiny hint of tongue just to the left of the nose, and ears at the top. ©2023 | jmhudson1.com

I've been out watching Barn owls pretty much every night for weeks now. Saw four tonight... Nice to have them close enough to get a shot or two.
2023 Photo 5/360: I picked up a few copies of the Bank of Botetourt's annual free calendar today because I had a couple of photos in it -- a northern cardinal for February 2023 and a flight of migrating wigeons for October 2023. Nice to see them chosen. Botetourt -- pronounced BOT-uh-tot, rhymes with "Not a lot" -- is a county in the Valley of Virginia that was named for one of the Commonwealth's last Colonial governors, Norborne Berkeley, Lord Botetourt. ©2023 John M. Il leitmotiv é sempre lo stesso.
Una industria di stato,la crisi,la privatizzazione,la chiusura,l'abbandono.la deturpazione dell'ambiente e del paesaggio.
L'officina che qui presento é un reparto di una fabbrica i cui cimeli,le memorie collettive,le testimonianze si stanno irrimediabilmente perdendo per l'avanzare del disinteresse e di un progresso che spesso cancella il passato.
E con i macchinari si perde anche la memoria del lavoro che tanta importanza ha avuto nel corso degli anni e nello sviluppo economico e sociale di un territorio
A differenza dei miei precedenti lavori non posso inserire ne nomi ne luoghi di questi scatti perché per realizzarli ho dovuto infrangere qualche regola.

The main theme is always the same.
A state industry, the crisis, privatization, closure and abandonment. Disfigurement environment and landscape.
The workshop presented here is a department of a factory whose relics, the collective memories, testimonies are hopelessly lost in the advance of disinterest and progress often erase the past.
And with the machinery we also lose the memory of the work that has been so important over the years and in the economic and social development
As in my previous work I can not add here any name because I should break a few rules.

I came across this photo shoot whilst on holiday, i took a few shots from a distance and then introduced myself, I got an email address and sent the images to them.
I'm pleased with them because i don"t normally photograph strangers, the 600mm lens helped :-)
2023 Photo 14/351: That's my wife, Linda, in the foreground, and those are a few dozen among thousands of seagulls circling and hunting for fish in the pond below the John H. Kerr Dam near Boydton, Va. We spent a chilly hour near sunset on Saturday hoping to photograph a few of the eagles nesting on the opposite shore of the Roanoke River below the Kerr Reservoir and power-generating plant. We had a little bit of luck, photowise, and we enjoyed the 6-hour round trip. ©2023 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com
