2023 Photo 120/245: Yes, there is life after newspapers: Sunday was the second day of 2023's Roanoke Open Studios, and I checked out the exhibit of a former colleague and former Roanoke Times photographer Stephanie Klein-Davis; here she is with her very large teasel (that's teasel, not thistle). Seeing the handwriting on the wall for the newspaper industry, Stephanie quit her long journalism career to teach photography in Roanoke City and to take her art in other directions. ©2023 John M. A Union Railroad steel coil train pulls out of Irvin Works yard. The main line to Clairton works can be seen in the upper left. This shot would not have been possible without a little help from Adobe. Several power lines crisscross the scene making one scuff at the thought of even trying to shoot it, but wait! Technology abound creates the view as the rail fan Gods want it to be!

We went out to run an errand this morning and saw this on the side of the road. It's very cold outside today!
