Petit éclaircisément, effet d'optique : la maison à colombages se trouve à environ 70 m. du porche...
Sur un des trajets historique du Chemin de Saint Jacques, Bayonne, la capitale du Pays Basque français n'a pas toujours été au bord de l'Adour... Modifiée au XVIIème siècle grâce à des travaux gigantesques, l'embouchure du fleuve était alors située au Boucau, une trentaine de Km au nord. Divisée aujourd'hui en trois quartiers, le Grand et le Petit Bayonne et le quartier St-Esprit, Bayonne a toujours été une étape importante du Chemin de Compostelle. C'est à ce titre que la cathédrale a été inscrite au Patrimoine Mondial de l'Humanité...

La catedral forma hoy parte del Patrimonio Mundial de UNESCO. De estilo gótico, construida en lugar de una románica más antigua, destaca en esta catedral un claustro flamígero de gran belleza.

We se Bünsowska huset
At nrs 29-33 on Strandvägen, is Bünsowska Huset, completed in 1888 and the most impressive of all buildings at Strandvägen. The architect, Isak Gustaf Clason, was inspired by the architecture of the castles of the Loire Valley in France when he designed this magnificent brick building with turrets and round towers.

The Parkbrug (2016) connects the ‘postindsutrial’ Antwerp parque: "Park Spoor Noord" with the redeveloped Eilandje quarter. It’s a CAD/CAM bridge: here and the final element of the Park Spoor Noord redevelopment project.
It's acually a pedestrians and cyclist passerelle, crossing this very busy Italiëlei thoroughfare and finally connecting the park with the Eilandje in a pleasing urban gesture.
'Park Spoor Noord' has an intersting hostory: it's a transformed former railway site where the NMBS (the Belgian national rail operator) from 1873-2001 parked, maintained and repaired locomotives and trainsets. The train sheds and associated industrial buildings with the very large rail emplacement formed a wedge between the surrounding neighbourhoods of Dam, Stuivenberg and Seefhoek.
The site measures 24 hectares (1.6 km long). The park is now a contemporary urban landscape park with an emphasis on green, light, space, relaxation, culture and sport. It used to end abruptly near the building site of the AP university/campus. After the large building complex was opened, a broad pedestrian lane/cycle path was realized that connects with the Parkbrug.
During the demolishing / redeveloping of the sheds and industrial buildings (2007), Park Spoor Noord park looked like this here. here , here , here , here and here.

Fotografía capturada en el interior de Las Reales Atarazanas de Sevilla. En esta imagen se pueden los arcos ojivales de este histórico complejo arquitectónico utilizado en su dia como arsenal y astillero en los siglos del XIII al XV.
Hoy dia, han sido restauradas y acondicionadas para ser usadas en un futuro próximo, como uno de los espacios culturales más importantes de España.

Photograph taken inside the Royal Shipyards of Seville (Reales Atarazanas de Sevilla). This image shows the pointed arches of this historic architectural complex, once used as an arsenal and shipyard from the 13th to the 15th centuries.
Today, it has been restored and adapted for use in the near future as one of Spain's most important cultural spaces.

Following the motto "The best is saved for last," I've been holding back my favorite poppy field photo from this year. And so, just before the end of the year, I can share a truly wonderful Poppy Monday with you.
The highlight of this photo is the single bloom in the foreground on the left, as you can see inside.
It's always fascinating for me to catch a glimpse of the people I meet.
I'm amazed by the complexity and depth I encounter.
In these moments, I often realize how similar we all are, because we all share the same basic needs, and there are essentially only seven of them. With a stronger awareness of this fact, the majority of conflicts would simply be obsolete.
On the other hand, every individual is unique with their own story, desires, fears, and passions, which makes this glimpse inside even more exciting.
However, to gain this insight, two things are necessary.
Firstly, a positive perspective, which means approaching other people openly and without prejudice (or at least with little prejudice).
Secondly, a certain closeness is necessary, because individual details are usually not visible from a distance. This means taking your time and being genuinely interested.
In this way, encountering other people (regardless of nationality, religion, or political or ideological orientation) can be like visiting a treasure island.
And so I wish you a joyful Advent week in which you might manage to find (or rediscover) one or two treasures.
Frei nach dem Motto "Das Beste kommt zum Schluß" habe ich mein Lieblings Mohnfeld Foto von diesem Jahr bis jetzt zurück gehalten. Und so ist es mir möglich, kurz vor Jahresende, mit Euch nochmal einen echten Mo(h)ntag zu begehen.
Das Highlight auf diesem Foto ist die eine Blüte im Vordergrund auf der linken Seite, da man hier ins Innere blicken kann.
Auch bei den Menschen, die mir begegnen ist es für mich immer wieder faszinierend, wenn ich einen Blick auf ihr Inneres erhaschen kann.
Ich bin begeistert von der Vielschichtigkeit und Tiefe, auf die ich dabei stoße.
In diesen Momenten wird mir oft bewusst, wie ähnlich wir uns alle sind, denn wir alle Teilen die selben Grundbedürfnisse und das sind im Grunde nur sieben. Mit einem stärkeren Bewußtsein für diese Tatsache, wären die Mehrzahl aller Konflikte einfach obsolet.
Auf der anderen Seite ist jedes Individuum ein Einzelstück mit einer eigenen Geschichte, eigenen Wünschen, Ängsten und Leidenschaften, was diesen Blick ins Innere noch spannender Macht.
Um diesen Einblick zu erhalten bedarf es jedoch zwei Dinge.
Zum einen einen zugewandten Blickwinkel, was beim Umgang mit anderen Menschen bedeutet ihnen offen und vorurteilsfrei (oder zumindest vorurteilsarm) entgegen zu treten.
Und zum Zweiten bedarf es einer gewissen Nähe, denn aus der Entfernung sind individuelle Details meißt nicht sichtbar. Das bedeutet sich Zeit zu nehmen und ehrlich interessiert zu sein.
Auf diese Art kann die Begegnung mit anderen Menschen (ganz gleich welcher Nationalität, Religion oder auch politischer oder weltanschaulicher Ausrichtung) wie ein Besuch auf einer Schatzinsel sein.
Und so wünsche ich Euch eine fröhliche Vorweihnachtswoche in der es Euch vielleicht gelingt, den ein oder anderen Schatz zu finden (oder wieder zu finden).

Der Bahnhof Valea Lui Mihai ist ein wahres Formsignalpardies, lassen sich doch seine Signale, die als Besonderheit zudem verschiedene Bauarten aufweisen, in unzähligen Perspektiven umsetzen. Am Abend des 27.06.2025 hatten wir es insbesondere auf den IC 366 nach Budapest abgesehen, dessen Ausfahrt auch erfolgreich umgesetzt werden konnte. Kurz darauf setzte sich aber auch noch ein sehr fotogener Güterzug mit ungarischen Zwiebelwagen verschiedener Bauarten in Bewegung. Der von CFR Marfa 60 1092 angeführte Zug wird über Oradea nach Aleșd fahren.
Valea Lui Mihai station is a true paradise for semaphore signals, as its signals can be photographed from countless perspectives. On the evening of June 27, 2025, we were particularly interested in the IC 366 to Budapest, which we were able to capture successfully. Shortly afterwards, a very photogenic freight train with Hungarian wagons also set off. The train, led by CFR Marfa 60 1092, will travel via Oradea to Aleșd.
