I didn't bring my camera with me as I didn't think I'd have any time to take pictures. Now I could kick myself. Had to take photos with my iPad.
Swirling and tumultuous this morning was much more than I expected. Upon arrival I could tell the surf was up, and Thors well wasn't safe. I watched a man go down with all his camera gear, and huge waves cascading over the seaboard shelf swirling down into the pit, and spouting up. When the clouds lit up and the rainbow hit I decided to take the risk. This was just about my last shot - as the next one in the set is almost comical... a huge wave (probably the one in this picture that's about to hit) cascading over myself and the frame. Luckily i was able to hold my footing in the waist deep water, and keep the camera above the chop/spray... it still got wet, but I didn't completely blow the back like I did earlier in this trip. This place always scares me, but I'm drawn to the peace and chaos that intermingles on this part of Oregon's shoreline.

We have been very lucky to be able to walk every day through our local park as long we don't linger long or form crowds. So I take my long lens with me to practice capturing fast moving birds while I am passing through. It has been good practice and I am keeping up my fitness! I look forward to the day we can sit longer to watch the wildlife, especially when the temperatures warm up! I would like to find my peaceful perch to be just a watcher! The daylight is getting longer. That is a bonus!
I'l be out to an open air concert today....unfortunately the weather doesn't look as nice as here on the pic. Hope you have a wonderful evening. I´This Concert will be a lot of fun, though!!!! I meet a flickr friend there....that's great too!

I really like beautiful smooth water due to lack of wind and very soft blue colors before the sun rises above the clouds on the horizon,

Work has kept me in quite a lot recently. New Year's resolution...get out more with the camera and post more photos... :)
It is chaos in the car park behind , but look this way and it is a different story - not even ducks squabbling , geese hissing or seagulls flapping about - Calm In The Storm --.
And where is this little oasis ? It is Bushy Park once again , another aspect to this Royal Park with so many different wonderful scenes like this . To think , on one side over the Thames is the busy town of Kingston on Thames , on another is Hampton Court Palace and to the North is Teddington .
