My latest challenge! In transport bazaar at FOKAB yesterday (2018) I saw (& had to buy) this scratchbuilt Blackpool Leyland PD2/Massey. A labour of love constructed from original plans in various woods & hardboard. Damaged front dome needs repair and I'll ultimately repaint in City of Exeter colours. Model 23" long so is 1/12 scale. Seller had inherited this work of art & I'll treasure it!

Oswald Street - 13/5/1976

Western SMT Leyland PD2 with bodywork by Northern Counties which entered service in 1956 and was withdrawn about 1972 is seen at an unidentified and rather depressing location. The garage prefix I for Inchinnan and the front of a blue (Patons?) or green (Cunningham's?) which sneaks into right of picture suggests somehwere around Renfrew/Inchinnan/Bishopton area. Does anybody recognise where? This has been scanned and digitally re-mastered from a colour slide recently re-discovered among my late father's collection. I believe this particular slide was a commercially available one which I purchased prior to 1978 while still staying with my parents, though the slide mount has no markings other than a pencilled index number. It is shared here on Flickr for no financial gain, but if anyone claims copyright on this old slide I will be happy to remove it from Flickr.

Coombe Vale Saltdean - 8/6/1977

This smart Titan PD2 was new to Wigan in 12/1966. There's one thing you can't say about the then Lancashire municipal and that is that their registrations weren't hard to make out, often ordering the first ten issued plates, but their fleet numbering system was always a bit haphazard! This Titan is seen here making pleasant appearance at a bus rally at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton, near Aylesbury, on 30/05/1994. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to see a northern bus as at southern rally back then, but it was a southern resident at this stage of it's preservation and maybe still is.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent Fujichrome.
