Sometimes I feel like I don't belong on this planet. Actually, many times and for many reasons, and I'm sure you too. It’s not just a question of being different but you really are, each of us is unique. Each one in its own way is special. So I decided to design and produce these identificative patches, thinking about all those people who sometimes feel out of place, that they are not like the others and hope someday to return to their true home, with their own.
I believe we are not alone in the universe, so I will be waiting for my friends from the stars to come and pick me up soon or late.
First Great Western 43172 'Harry Patch' at Torquay with the (1A82) 11.32 Paignton-London Paddington. The loco was named after the last survivor of the trenches and for me is the best of special livery HST power cars to date.

PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: This is Dorothy--She was a generous gift in July 2024, she is AWESOME, and she is in great shape! She reminds me of one of our favorite Cabbies--Joy Irene--because of her golden blonde hair, but she's so much more vibrant! In July of 2024, two packages from two very generous guys showed up at our door two days in a row! (The guys mailed them at the same time, but the boxes got separated in the mail.) Because there had been some strange thing with tracking, the generous senders actually messaged Shelly the day before the first box showed up and asked if we'd gotten anything. So, it was, therefore, not a total shock to find a giant box. Box one had a note saying there was ANOTHER box. Box two had a LOT of Cabbage Patch Kids! Which was AMAZING! Shelly and I had been LOOKING for more Cabbies. (The lady who regularly has more than one at our local flea market wants ten dollars or more each--I think we paid fifteen for Nathan--and most of them aren't interesting enough to pay more than a few dollars for.) But hadn't had success in a while. Suddenly, we'd been inundated with Cabbies! (Coleco Cabbies hold onto a lot of odor too, so the studio smelled a little weird for a couple days.) What on earth were we going to name them all? A few names jumped out at us, then Shelly suggested borrowing names from our guinea pigs! In the end, this girl was left with "Dorothy" because the "gorgeous" one had been named Penelope, the "monkey face" girl Poppy, the "dirty" one had to be Delilah, and the quirky Cornsilk doll was Winnie (our guinea pig Winnie died before we got these dolls, but her name was PERFECT for the Cabbage in question). However, I think Dorothy FITS her. A brunette would've been a more natural choice for the name, because of Wizard of Oz, but I really do think this girl is a Dorothy. She's like our guinea pig--sweet, vibrant, bright eyed, and lively! She's a real charmer! I definitely feel like she cleaned up better than some of the others and they all cleaned up really well! We're guessing these dolls (who I think the guys thrifted with us in mind) all originally (or most of them) came from the same person's collection. Most were wearing attire that was likely original (all the dates checked out in terms of dolls' stamps and years outfits were used) and all had the look of either being owned by a collector or gently loved by a careful kid. No one was totaled--although a few were really dirty (especially Delilah). But sometimes, even if dolls were manufactured around the same time and owned by the same person, some dolls just age better. (Take our childhood GOTs, Angela and Valerie--same home, bought within a month of each other, but Angela aged so much better.) I'm thinking Dorothy is just one of those lucky girls who fared well over time. Her almost forty years have not dulled her sparkle! She's a gem! If only we could all be like Dorothy--wake up, roll out of bed, and still look gorgeous!

A patch of iridescent colour appeared in the sky this evening - just before sunset. The patch was in the "sundog position" to the right of the sun. It wasn't there long and this, the first of my four shots, was the best.
Just thought, this was the first image that I have taken for a fortnight - too many Goodwood images still to process!
