Lentamente muore
chi diventa schiavo dell'abitudine,
ripetendo ogni giorno
davanti all'errore e ai sentimenti.
Lentamente muore
Muore lentamente
chi distrugge l'amor proprio,

I showed a picture of this to the head grounds person at the local botanical gardens. She very quickly responded "passion vine". She told me that the seed pod is indeed hollow, and only contains about 3 small seeds.
This plant is quite old and I take it indoors for the winter... it's growing and looks very healthy after a good trimming!
Passiflora incarnata.
From the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center:
This unusual flower is widely distributed in the Southeast US, especially from Florida to Texas. The plants were given the name Passionflower or Passion Vine because the floral parts were once said to represent aspects of the Christian crucifixion story, sometimes referred to as the Passion. The 10 petal-like parts represents the disciples of Jesus, excluding Peter and Judas; the 5 stamens the wounds Jesus received; the knob-like stigmas the nails; the fringe the crown of thorns. The name Maypop comes from the hollow, yellow fruits that pop loudly when crushed.
How does it know where to put the white spots to make concentric circles, and why? I assume it is to attract pollinators.

A passion flower vine had grown through the fence and produced these gorgeous flowers! Couldn't resist taking a shot as I walked by!

Blue Passion Flower (Passiflora caerulea)
For my 100 Flowers Project - 2025
My detour to see the Purple-crowned Lorikeets took me past a garden with a Passion Vine in flower. It has been some time since I have seen them.
Photographed through the fence with the birding lens.
From what I've heard, the color purple represents passion. This is one of the flowers from my "get well" boquets a month or so back. I really need to get out & shoot-running out of stuff to post!
Roses symbolize unbridled passion.
Of beauty born, they burn with hungry fire....
this is part of a poem by Nicholas Gordon.
GIVE YOURSELF A TREAT, LARGE and View On Black
The Roses mixed with the 'virgin-white' snapdragons... This image is a good representation of my own unbridled passion for flowers.
I still do not consider myself a 'flower-photographer' , only a photographer who loves to take the best possible images of flowers, bringing out the characteristics, shapes and colours, through light and placement, give them a 'personality'...
Thank you for your time and comments, M, (*_*)
