Passiflora caerulea, the blue passionflower, bluecrown passionflower or common passion flower, is a species of flowering plant native to South America. It has been introduced elsewhere. It is a vigorous, deciduous or semi-evergreen tendril bearing vine growing to 10 m (33 ft) or more. Its leaves are palmately lobed, and its fragrant flowers are blue-white with a prominent fringe of coronal filaments in bands of blue, white, yellow, and brown. View On BlackTaken at my favorite sunset place. Grassy Waters Preserve. No filter. Came out of the camera this color and I didn't need to do anything but crop. The sky was just being special. All day I'd been watching the clouds do strange things and knew it was going to be a special sunset. A large wet front had moved through followed by dry air and wind.

A native Passion vine blossom in my flower garden. This is the host plant for our bright orange Gulf fritillary butterflies. They are scarce this year - I think I've seen only 3. The vines grow up to 15 ft long, produce fruit (maypops) and will be devoured by the Gulf frit cats this Summer. Our big bumblebees fit perfectly inside the blossom. North Georgia
