I'm going to stay on this 'great-night' for a while, if you don't
mind. I got far too many 'great-keepers' to let them pass and
get buried in the archives. It was the best night of the year
(so far) with its amazing sunset/weather-phenomena and the
shelf-cloud. Only the second shelf-cloud I've ever seen in South
Florida. So bear with me for a little while, and thanks for looking.

My favorite "sunrise in paradise" location on Key West. These palms are featured on Jimmy Buffett's A1A album, and the back cover is about 50 yards north of here. While he lived here this was a favorite spot of his and he wrote a few songs here. Have been attempting to get the best shot of these palms for many years. I'M STILL TRYING!

Tiki-Bar Boats & Sails - yes those are floating Tiki-Huts in the busy harbor cruising slowly, powered by a single small outboard motor. Each with a bartender/captain, a bar, and six customers enjoying
the slow sunset-cruise for 2 hours. The whole fleet is out on a nice night! Of course you have to 'hold-it-in' until you you get back! LOL

Ponce de Leon claimed Florida for Spain in 1513. (Christopher Columbus discovered North America in 1492 but actually landed in the Bahamas). Other Spanish explorers later found gold and silver in Mexico and Peru. The treasure was sent back to Spain in ships sailing in the Gulf Stream. Spanish settlements needed to be built in Florida to protect the Spanish Treasure fleets. King Phillip II of Spain sent Pedro Menendez to settle in Florida and drive out French garrisons recently established there. In September 1565, Pedro Menendez with 700 soldiers and colonists landed 'here' and founded St. Augustine making it the oldest continually occupied European settlement in North America ~ Saint Augustine Inlet

The skies for the most part are overcast and I love them!
The industrial feel you get when visiting around the waterfront and docks are a photographers dream.
The Pike's Market Place and back alley shops are unique in every sense of the word. Travel, yes I do, all around Seattle.

This was an out-of-focus iPhone shot taken after dark during a hike through the woods. We were using our phones to light the path. I liked the idea of the bridge and the light in the woods, but the photo I took was hopelessly out-of-focus. But then the Prisma app turned it into the fantasy scene out of a comic book, with the woods alive with wriggling forms. I really like this, but I cannot pin down what filter was used, because they add new ones every day, and it takes an incredible amount of time to dig through them. Hopelessly over-the-top, but still I like it., and so did my son and daughter-in-law. Teatown Nature Preserve. Westchester
