I can just imagine how spectacular places like this are at sunset...the problem with long road trips is being in places for only short periods of time. We drove from California (actually from Phoenix to Ca to OR to WA to MO SD etc back to Nova Scotia so we could never stay in one place for long enough. Now that I am addicted to being a grandmother I may never get back...at least I have lots of photos to enjoy.

Stormy skies over Glacier's Two Medicine Lake. First snow of the season the night before. Nice balance of autumn gold and winter to come.

Quelle journée sans nuage, quelle douce pluie tardive décident qu’une année de vin sera grande entre les années ? La sollicitude humaine n’y peut presque rien, là tout est sorcellerie céleste, passage de planète, taches solaires.

I waited patiently for at least an hour for this great geyser to erupt. And it did not disappoint . The Grand Geyser, a classic fountain geyser, erupts with powerful bursts rather than a steady column , like Old Faithful.
An average eruption lasts 12 -15 minutes and bursts are 200 feet. It was a highlight of my trip.
Even though I had to get up at 4:30 this AM to meet up with some friends from the photo club to go to Lunenburg for sunrise. Sunrise was a bit disappointing but we had a lovely day anyway, and the weather turned out great..a breezy -1 C but sunny... There is a wooden statue covered in a big tarp on the deck of the red shed which I decided to clone out..it was just not very pretty LOL

in un mondo sconosciuto che mi ha inghiottita, accolta con la sua incredibile bellezza ho pensato - con un pizzico di amarezza - che "siamo sempre lo straniero di qualcun altro" ma la tua strada percorsa per arrivare fin lì ha fatto la differenza e allora posso dire che hai donato e lottato e non è stato tempo perso provare a convivere, non lo sarà mai. Ricchezza pura e insostituibile!

This waterfall was very popular probably because of its conspicuous location in Southern Iceland (so tour buses don't miss it). That said, this falls also featured some things that made it more than an ordinary tall waterfall; such as the ability to go behind it as well as its close proximity to other nice waterfalls such as the spooky Gljúfurárfoss. 5720

It was a fantastic walk through the Sigmund-Thun Klamm and round the Klammsee. In the background you can see the glacier Kitzsteinhorn.
The Klammsee is a reservoir and is located in the municipality of Kaprun in Salzburg in Austria.
The Klammsee is an underground storage with a volume of 200,000 m³ and part of the power station Kaprun. The dam Bürgsperre with a height of 19 m accumulates the Kaprun Ache.

I must have taken at least 100 shots of this village. Although its a hill top village it is also surronded by hills which meant that I could never get it in direct sunlight during the golden hour. It was also difficult trying to find a location with a clear shot without any trees blocking the view. I eventually decided to use the trees to my advantage and used this little bit of of framing to add some depth.

Temple of Debod was originally erected 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of Aswan[2] in Upper Egypt. In 1960, due to the construction of the Aswan Dam, the temple was donated to Spain and reconstructed in Madrid.

To look at this one of Norway's most famous waterfalls at the top cliff point, you have to drive on the old road, making 125 sharp turns.
And sleeves of the waterfall twisting down through the rocks on the background of swirling mists above the gorges of the Mabodalen ridge.

Там, где петляют водопады

Чтобы взглянуть на этот один из самых знаменитых водопадов Норвегии с верхней точки у обрыва, надо проехать по старой дороге, делающей 125 крутых поворотов.
Да и рукава водопада петляют по крутым скальным склонам на фоне клубящихся туманов над ущельями горного массива Мобедален.
