Two prominent peaks of the Alaska range rise above the Chulitna river shortly after dawn. Makes our human frailties and problems seem quite small in comparison when standing here.

Thanks for taking a peak peek!

Preikestolen is a steep cliff which rises 604 metres above the Lysefjorden. Atop the cliff, there is an almost flat top of approximately 25 by 25 metres.

The hike to Preikestolen from the closest car park is very steep and takes 2–3 hours. The path starts at an elevation of about 270 metres above sea level, and climbs to 604 metres. Though the vertical drop is only 334 metres, the total elevation gain and loss over the course of the hike is more than one might initially expect, as the path climbs and descends various ridges.

But the hard way is fully compensated by the breathtaking views ...

This picture is an attempt to find a non-trivial view of this one of the most famous places in Norway.

Usually it shows a plateau with people, someone on the edge of the cliff, or view separately. Here I tried to combine the mystique of rock and a view of the fjord ...

Have a wonderful week !!!

A closeup of tree roots protruding above the soil in the Hyde Hall RHS Gardens.

In 2006 I had two times the opportunity to migrate into the valley of the Havasupai Indians and see this magnificent waterfall and take pictures of course. Unfortunately, destroyed a flood in 2008 a part of the beautiful lime sinter terraces .

The Havasupai Indians are also called "the people of the blue-green water". Blue-green has been the water the day before. In the night, however, it had rained heavily in the mountains, so that in the early morning a red-brown muddy broth rolled into the valley, probably a not-often-seen drama.

Unfortunately, a strong wind blew, so a fine spray of dirty water dyed everything including the camera.

Yes...read it and weep, my friends...frost. We woke up to an icy glaze covering the outside world the morning before last. The little ice crystals sure are beautiful, they also look bizarre on pumpkins, mums and vibrant autumn leaves. Not to worry...the cold didn't last....we're thankfully back to normal temps. Though I think the cold will be back next week...that's New England for you ;-)

Hope everyone is having a great week. Enjoy the rest of your day, my friends :-)

There 's nothing like cool temperatures and fresh air to raise the spirits. during my forays to the Alabama Hills the temperature can get up into the 100's and when they do, this is where I seek refuge. At around 9000 ft in elevation the difference in temperature is about 15 degrees and there nothing better the a fine mist that floats away from the falls right onto your weary soul.

Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my photos, and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great Weekend!! :)
