Throwback Thursday, Geirangerfjord, Norway, early autumn afternoon, the low angle of the sun hardly shines on sea level at that time of the year, so the cloud cover helped. The leaves on the north facing slopes (left side) had been blown away by a wind storm a few days prior, hence no color on that side.
Dear friends, I will be away again soon and take a break.
I wish you all a great time :-)
By the way, unfortunately I couldn't take many images from Berlin,
I had serious problems with my cam.
Yesterday I have bought a new one. I have a lot to learn and hope,
that I will bring back some nice images.
Bye for now!

The image is from my Archives, taken on the fairy from Croatian mainland to Rab Island.
I took a kayak out to this location, and I started grumbling when it started raining on the way. I almost turned around, but I'm glad I stuck it out because of this incredible sky. I held my jacket over my camera for the entire exposure (freezing the entire time...). I only forgot to set the ISO off automatic and ended up with an ISO400, but I kind of like the slightly grainy look :-)

Riffelsee revealing his fascinating reflection on a calm & clear autumn morning. Perfect conditions for "His Majesty's" glorious appearance in the first light of the day.

After a fire destroyed the original lodge in the winter of 1962, the two original lifts were removed in the 1970s. The BC government funded a new lodge on the ridge and an aerial tramway to the mountaintop from the valley below.
In 1976, new ownership funded a second aerial tramway, built by Garaventa, known as the Red Tram or Super Skyride which is one on the right. The larger tram cars (for about 100 passengers) arrive at a separate top terminal building a short walk from the lodge. The older Blue Tram, on the left, is now mainly used to transport supplies directly to the lodge structure.
I was sure I could shot her ( as she is a lady !) on the the take off instant and I was watching the right time, I said in my mind I could see the light movement before take off, in less of 5 seconds without showing any sign she started !!!! If I knew that I'll put more ISO more speed !! Photographer is always unsatisfied !!
Hi friends, it's been a while since I've been on flickr and I almost forgot they switched to the new layout. I decided to take a couple weeks off and that turned into almost two months... I've been shooting just not posting. I cant wait to see what everyone has been up to. In the nearly two months off I've totally reworked my processing work flow and wanted to do it without any outside influences and I feel I have got it dialed in. So I guess I've been in a transitional phase you could say.
This is a shot from the Washington coast after a hike out to hole in the rock. I look forward to getting back into the flickr groove and am excited to see what you all have been up to.
I found this seagull perched on a post leading out to the rougher waters of the area surrounding Venice. There were boats by each home or building there because after all it is only one of two ways to navigate Venice. The other is by walking.

Valley of Fire State Park
Some might recognize the landscape from a favorite movie.
Viva Las Vegas starring Elvis Presley had multiple shots filmed in the park during the racing scenes for the film's finale in 1963.
The Professionals with Burt Lancaster, Lee Marvin, and Claudia Cardinale was filmed in 1966. Valley of Fire was one of three locations used in the film. All that remains of the set is a portion of a rock wall of a hacienda.[11]
The outside Mars scenes from Total Recall, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, were almost totally shot in Valley of Fire.[12]
The scenes from planet Veridian III from Star Trek
Generations were filmed here in 1994.[13]
The Silica Dome is particularly highlighted for Star Trek fans as the site of iconic starship captain James T. Kirk's death and burial.
