This is one of the pictures of my favorite Second Beach La Push. It was taken last year.

One of those shots where if I managed to take two steps to the left the composition would have been perfect, unfortunately I was standing right of the edge of the loch as it was. I think it looks good in black and white to emphasise the mist and contrast with the trees in the distance.

Christmas is less than a fortnight away and nature here in Ostwestfalen is like early Spring. We used Sunday afternoon for an extended hiking tour around home waters of the river Werre in the Löhne area.

You can see this picture in a colored version at the end of my photostream. I think, monochrom has more depth and atmosphere. What´s your opinion?

...on the road east we met another herd of cattle on the long paddock outside Rolleston, Queensland, Australia. Since then there has been some good rain in the west.

Droving is a common sight at present in the outback, where cattle are moved along a highway corridor or stock route (colloquially known as the "long paddock") for feed to save the cattle from a severe drought. Drovers often move cattle hundreds of kilometres to areas that have had rain and there is grass to feed the herd.

EN - Tyrol Castle was originally built before year 1100, but the hill has been inhabited since ancient times. The large fortress, which gave the Tyrol region its name, is located on a high rokcy spur in the outskirts of the city of Meran, South Tyrol, Northern Italy.

14th June 2015 - British Aircraft Corporation TSR 2 XR220 taken in the morning sun on a rare outing outside her hangar at the RAF Cosford 2015 airshow.

The Following is taken from the museum website:

Although never developed beyond the prototype stage, the British Aircraft Corporation TSR2 was one of the most exciting and controversial British combat aircraft designs of the 1960s. The cancellation of the project is a subject of great debate to this day.

During the mid 1950s, the increasing sophistication of air defence systems led the RAF to consider the procurement of a high speed, low level strike and reconnaissance aircraft to replace the English Electric Canberra. In October 1957, the Ministry of Supply released the first specification for such an aircraft.

On 1 January 1959 the Ministry of Supply announced a design had been selected for production. Christened the TSR2 (Tactical Strike and Reconnaissance Mach 2), this aircraft was developed by a joint design team. A contract for eleven TSR2 prototypes was concluded on 6 October 1960, the first (XR219) made its maiden flight from Boscombe Down on 27 September 1964.

By 31 March 1965 XR219 had completed twenty-four flights, and a second, the aircraft you see here, was to join the programme. Initial reports indicated that the TSR2 was an outstanding technical success. However political opposition to the project led to it being cancelled from 6 April 1965.

High upon the cliffs along the North Sea, reside the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. It was once the largest castle in Northumberland, but today only fragments of it remain as the result of many wars. The castle was built in 1313 by Thomas Plantagenet who was later executed for treason by his cousin King Edward II. The executioner needed 11 strokes to decapitate Thomas and for that reason the Earl’s ghost has been spotted around the castle carrying his mangled head, with a facial expression still bearing the pain and horror he suffered. The castle has associated with the legend of Sir Guy. Sir Guy was a knight who arrived at Dunstanburgh Castle, where he was met by a wizard and led inside. There he came across a noble lady imprisoned inside a crystal tomb and guarded by a sleeping army. The wizard offered Guy a choice of either a sword or a hunting horn to help free the lady; he incorrectly chose the horn, which woke the knights. Sir Guy found himself outside the castle, and spent the rest of his life attempting to find a way back inside.

I was on the run to get this before the colour faded and was fortunate enough to find some water in a ditch to catch some reflection (and perspective).

Does this look too processed? It does to me. I adjusted whites and blacks just a touch. I brought down highlights quite a bit. Most color adjustments were not touched, but I did adjust luminance on a few hot colors. Comments welcomed.
