Regrettably after the recent takeover by an investment group, many of the old standards that made Outback the place to go for steaks have been removed from the menu. Prices have been increased. If you knew Outback before the sellout, you won't recognize the new incarnation. SAD! Too bad management doesn't know, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

This outback hotel is a prime attraction of William Creek, a town of about 10 inhabitants in the middle of nowhere. A chance of getting next beer is about 200 kms away, either in Coober Pedy or Oodnadatta.
Our first campsite of the trip was nothing much, but it had clear, flat ground with showers and flushing toilets only about 50m from us. It was about a kilometre from the Farina ruins, and after we set up the tents, we took a drive to check them out.
The day had been beautiful and cloud free, which had one undesirable result – overnight temperatures plummeted!
