It's all about finding your space

This is east of Alice Springs on private property at the tail end of the East Macdonnell Ranges. Not a bad backyard! The owners have around 4000 square km's of land and 25,000 head of cattle. We stayed in one of their farmhouses for a couple of nights surrounded by these mountains.

This is an 8 shot stitch with Sigma 24-105 at 60mm.

You can drive for several hundreds of miles in a world dominated by Red Green and Blue colors, without seeing another human being. Then, suddenly, crossing a drought river bed, you find the first sign of human presence, wiped out by the power of nature. That's the Outback.

I wasn't sure if I was in Goondiwindi or on Easter Island when I came across this sculture.

Another shameless attempt at cashing in on the 'loco de jour' sees 4472 'Flying Scotsman' on its 1989 trip to the outback town of Alice Springs crossing the dry river bed of the Finke River - 14 August 1989.

The bridge dates to 1980 when a new standard gauge route was opened replacing the infamous narrow gauge alignment, Dry for the most part, infrequent but sudden flash flooding of the Finke would create havoc with the schedule of old narrow gauge Ghan.

Selon Wikipedia, Uluru "est un des points du chemin parcouru par les ancêtres au temps du rêve, période de la formation du monde. Ce chemin est parcouru annuellement par diverses tribus afin de perpétuer la mémoire et de stimuler les esprits".

When the Outback restaurant opened in the "American Building" , people actually complained about the idea of a "foreign" themed restaurant opening in a building with the American name!
