With a new dog, I find myself out walking in the evenings again. It's been 3 years since I regularily did that. My last dog was getting too old for walks and it has been nice to get out and see the neighbourhood again.

Winter 2009 has been the most snowy winter of the last twenty years here in Northern Italy. In this series of "White Outs" I have depicted the snow covered fields and trees of the plain at the feet of the Alps in Piedmont, Italy
By the Interpreter Centre at Oak Hammock Marsh they have an area where mink seem to be living under the tall grasses. Since we are Canadian, we say 'Keep Out" in the nicest way.

USPS finally delivered my package. Viktor is ecstatic his new boxers are here, Cre... not so much...
When I got these women's size 7 (EU 38) slip-ons a while ago, the tread of the outersole was already coming loose. The previous occupant had actually glued several of the loose edges back to the shoe. If it wasn't for that glue, the tread would have completely fallen off by now. At this point, I'm curious how much longer before it does, there is very little holding it on.
As you can see, the heel on the right shoe has completely detached and is hanging by a thin strand of rubber. I had thought it would have broken off by now, but it is still dangling and dragging.
I thought the dangling sole would be annoying while walking, but I hardly notice it. Sometimes it flops back where it belongs, other times it folds under the ball of my foot, but it is so thin and flexible I hardly feel it. If the loose soles were too annoying I'd pull them off, but I'm curious as to how long before they just fall or break off, and if anyone will notice the dangling heel, soon to be heels.
I'm a little surprised that the dangling heel doesn't attract attention but it hasn't. No one much seems to pay any mind to how decrepit my shoes are.
G-BBDG was the third Concorde built in Britain and this country’s first production Concorde.
Her maiden flight took place on February 13th 1974, and thereafter she carried out a large
part of the certification work that saw Concorde flying in commercial service between 1976 and 2003.
Delta-Golf was called a production aircraft, but she never went into commercial service because the final version specified by the airlines was different yet again, although not in a way that affected handling or performance certification.
The aircraft carried many tons of
test equipment to monitor hundreds of aircraft parameters during this certification flying.
Delta-Golf was the fastest production Concorde and, on August 17 1974, she became the first aircraft ever to carry 100 people at Mach 2 - twice the speed of sound. Later in her
flying life she was used to test performance modification that would eventually be fitted to
the British Airways and Air France fleets, allowing increase range for the aircraft, thus
enabling British Airways to operate scheduled Concorde services to Barbados.
After her final flight on Christmas Eve 1981, Delta-Golf was put into storage at Filton. With
the official end of the Concorde development programme, she was subsequently acquired
British Airways in 1984 to provide a much-needed source of spare parts for their fleet of
seven aircraft.
To protect their investment and to keep her out of public view, British Airways constructed
a special hangar at Filton for Delta Golf in 1988. In 1995, Concorde G-BOAF’s droop nose
was damaged in a ground handling accident at Heathrow and BA replaced it with the droop nose from Delta-Golf. (The nose from Alpha-Foxtrot was later repaired at Brooklands
Museum and fitted to Delta-Golf in 2005.)
In 2002, long after Delta-Golf’s flying days were over, the airframe was used to test fit and
certify new, strengthened cockpit doors required by the authorities after the September 11th atrocities in the United States.
In October 2003, British Airways offered Delta-Golf to Brooklands Museum for restoration and public display. Dismantled by a specialist contractor, her major sections arrived here by
road in May and June 2004. Over an 18 month period contractors and a team of over one hundred volunteers restored the aircraft to her former glory.

Our redbud tree is leafing out with its pink flowers blooming in the background. 2/3 of this tree was dead and cut down this year. The remaining 1/3 is giving us hope for the better.

Realising another shoot that I had always wanted to achieve.
Big credits to Melissa for her bleeding gums and her assistant Daniel who had to bear the scorching sun. Also thanks to Datson for helping out with his strong arms!

Scott Fybush in 2011: "Tower 9 is the original KRON-TV/FM tower, now used by KTSF (RF 27/virtual 26) and by KRZZ 93.3)." It was part of a complex built by KRON, then the NBC TV affiliate on channel 4, in 1949.
Perhaps the longest tenant on this tower was KTSF/26, which had been broadcasting after the digital transition on channel 27, but relinquished that channel in the spectrum auction, and is now, in the great repack, a "guest" of KDTV-DT, virtual channel 14, pre-repack on channel 51, and post-repack on channel 20. It broadcasts from Mount Allison in the East Bay.
At the top now is the four-bay antenna of KRZZ/93.3 fm, which has radiated from a number of other sites around the Bay. In my time there (starting in 1985), it was on the KOIT/1260 (originally KYA) tower on Candlestick Hill, moved up to San Bruno after that tower was dropped in a storm, and then moved to the East Bay hills while maintaining an auxiliary transmitter on the new KOIT tower, and eventually moving back here. When I wrote about it in Linux Journal, back in 2010, with guidance from my last docent on the mountain, Tim Pozar, wireless Internet service was provided to scientists on the Farallon Islands, offshore, from the base of this tower..
We visit Tower 8 in other shots.
We met at an abandoned warehouse. It was a perfect evening as the sun was setting and shining directly at my opponent's eye. As my nemesis shadow was growing longer, my time to shoot was getting shorter. Who will prevail? Who will shoot first?
John Deere to the rescue. It wasn't that the YJ didn't try. What you dont see is the depth of the holes. The ruts were filled in just before he ran and he went throught the ruts fine, got hung up on the filled in spot. You should have 35s to run here according the sign. I did see a stock JK Rubicon run through.

Lantern on the Old City Hall in Bergen, Norway.
The building was originally build in 1558 as a private residence for Christoffer Valkendorf, from 1556 to 1560 the governor for the King of Denmark and Norway in Bergen.
From 1561 onwards, the building gradually became the meeting place for magistrates and in 1568 it was donated to the city of Bergen. It housed the city´s administration, an assembly room, the court room and a prison.
The building was modified to new uses over the centuries. The last major modification took place in 1885. It was restored in 1901 and 1985. Today it serves as the meeting place for the city council.
