WEEK 10 – S Perkins Kroger Revisited, Part II
Had to get really close to the produce coolers on the side wall to get this shot: the angled sign placement probably helps to advertise “farm fresh produce” to customers who might otherwise overlook this nook-like area, but keeps the department icon in the dark, metaphorically speaking. Realistically speaking, it's too much in the light: the sun from those windows has made these stickers peel the worst out of all of the ones in the store! Here's a shot of the other side of this wall from my blog post.

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

I like that one little thing was misplaced. Standing out and in a different direction. Still connected but doing its own thing. Something I can relate to.
Sorry to find out that Pearl Paint (on Canal St. NY) closed its doors earlier this year ... I remember visiting this location a few times, it was always fun and inspiring.

I had to get out of the house for a bit today, so after the first bit of rain came through I headed down towards the Lake Erie & Niagara River shoreline. The clouds were breaking for just about twenty minutes and constantly changing. I got one color image with my 75-200mm lens (200mm) and a B&W with the 24-120 (120mm). For my friends that aren't here in Buffalo, the silo looking building out on the water is the water intake for the Colonel Ward pumping station. The 1907 building takes in 125 million gallons of drinking water for Buffalo every day. Water rushes into the round brick and concrete building through grates and collects in a circular pool. The water drops 60 feet to a 12-foot diameter, mile-long concrete tunnel burrowed under the river bed. It ends up at the Col. Ward Pumping Station at the foot of Porter Avenue, where it is treated at the filtration plant and sent throughout the city. Atop the red roof is a guard light for passing ships. Around the exterior wall is a balcony embroidered by curving wrought iron. via 500px ift.tt/2hslUxi
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa.
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa.
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, ooh whoa.

Out of water at minus tide, these are about the size of human fingers and remind me of latex gloved fingers sticking up.

Despite its color, this is one of the red algae.
Not doing so much photography in the make-shift studio at home but still attempting a few experiments to try out at locations. This was done using a wire wool spinner and a masking board. Mid-exposure tripod swap and refocus. then used another moving stencil with Ryu's V2 torch on slowest strobe.

Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky
