When the power goes out you work with a flashlight. I'm making a rag quilt for a friend and had to do something so the little flashlight sure did come in handy to work on the project.
Sadly, my friend has cancer and I hope to get this to her before Christmas.
This place was so amazing. I heard about it from another photographer and went out to search for it. Took me half an hour of driving around the area, until I spotted this patch of yellow in the distance. I have to say, it was one of the most beautiful sights I have yet to see in my short life.

Don't believe it when someone tells you that "size doesn't matter!" You bet it does and this photographer is proof that bringing out the big guns at an airshow is sometimes essential. My Nikon 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 VR zoom is feeling sorta inadequate right about now.

Shutterbug Tip: This is a good example of using a long lens up close, with a (relatively) large aperture and a distant background to blur everything else out and allow the eye to focus only on the subject; great Image Isolation and Shallow Depth of Field.
A Group of Gannets were on the cliff just below me when these two became very aggressive with each other,pulling bills and stabbing at each and making quite a din! It was amazing to be so close to the action
I think the Gannet at the top of the frame was acting as Referee!!

This room in an old home at the Comet Ghost Town is one of my favorites.
The staircase just seems to add the right amount of composition and atmosphere, while the windows provide a view out to the "present world."
Among my flight photos over the playa, the oblique views give a truer sense of the depth of the dendritic channels. I can't explain the differences in color. They alternate left to right, and even within the brown ones there are white branches. It's not a matter of depth else the brown ones would turn white at the tips. The pre-erosional surface appears uniform across the branches. If you have a theory, let me know. Perhaps they represent different years of formation; in the center, the brown channels appear to overlay the white ones with different source material. At right and left, the situation appears reversed.
I'm that speck at top right, having hiked a mile into the playa.
Out for a relaxing walk at a nature reserve near us. There are so many interesting things to take in and photo - though it can always get a bit cluttered with so much nature in the photos - I am happy with this one.

NYNJ Rail 5101 leads a train down 1st Avenue, crossing one of the many switches to former warehouse sidings along the street. Due to the tight confines of the street and buildings, this switch branches off in the opposite direction of the warehouse, then curves back to cross the "main" before entering the warehouse.
Reading more about this here, these spurs were originally from when the street was double track. During reconstruction, the street section was singled due to decreased traffic, but the buildings could not allow the curves to be eased and so these "jug handles" or "out and about" switches were developed.
EDIT~~~ This has gotten over 10, 000 views, and i wanted to bump it up and say thanks for all the comments and the views, and lets hope out of the almost 11,000 views, at least one person got some useful helpful information and maybe just maybe iot helped save someone.
I wanted these to be seen, especially this one. I didn't get any further than here with them, but almost 11,000 views is pretty good i think.

Today's disorder is a very broad termed one. I am trying to go alphabetically an the only thing other than "eating disorder" that began with "e" involved feces and urine, so i stayed away from those.
Plus i think eating disorders are a serious serious issue that should be made aware.
Let me touch on the actual picture for a moment. i am well aware that my body looks totally deformed and ab normal... i did that with the intention of portraying how people with eating disorders usually view themselves. A deformed and distorted view of reality.

An eating disorder is characterized by abnormal eating habits that may involve either insufficient or excessive food intake to the detriment of an individuals physical and emotional health. The causes of eating disorders are complex and not yet fully understood. Eating disorders are estimated to affect 5-10 million females and 1 million males in the United States.[1] Although not yet classified as separate disorder, binge eating disorder[2] is the most common eating disorder in the United States affecting 3.5% of females and 2% of males according to a study by Harvard affiliated McLean Hospital. Bulimia nervosa was the second most common followed by Anorexia nervosa.[3]

There are some staggering stats that i want to touch on here, read them, think about them, and please please please, if you know anyone suffering from this, or you yourself are, get help, or BE help.
