This is either a Mottled Duck or a Mottled/Mallard hybrid. Most likely the latter. Hybrids are common and threaten the survival of Mottled Ducks as a separate species.
The sprawling fronds of a Sword Fern reach out towards the rushing spring meltwater of Gorton Creek in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.

66427+66421 on Sunday afternoon RHTT duties on the Tyne Valley. The sunday working is a straightforward out and back from Carlisle to Tursdale junction.
After many happy years of class 37 and 57 operation the last two years have seen duties fall to pairs of class 66's. Considerably less interesting but still worth a look if the sun is out.
The consist is seen on the outbound stretch passing through Stocksfield station.

All quiet, 330pm on Friday afternoon, at Earles Siding, the transfer siding from the Hope Cement works.Just 3 deserted sheds in the background, 66605,66616 and one other.
This is only the second time in my life that I've seen a moose...and wouldn't you know it was pouring rain so hard that it ruined my shot!!!!!!!!!! We took a drive into Idaho. When Sam saw it...he pulled over and I jumped out...found a nice solid log to set my camera on starting shooting pics! Little did I know that the pouring rain would ruin any attempts I made of getting a nice shot of this big guy!!!! :( lol...oh well..it was thrilling nonetheless!!! :) Think I got some nice landscapes images! Have a great evening everyone! :) Lochsa is a Nez Perce word meaning "+rough water." The Salish name is Ep Smɫí, "It Has Salmon".....That is the river shown above....Lochsa River.
