Someone asked me where I took a shot she liked. It was taken 53 years ago in NYC and unsurprisingly, I did not remember. However, I did a Google Image Search and within seconds I had the answer.

Alas, I could not do the same with these images that I took only back in May. I haven't the foggiest. All I know is that it was a Saturday and was taken with my wee Sony. According to my full catalog, I did not take any other shots on that day.

There is something to be said in favour of smartphones with the availability of GPS info.

A visit to Castell Coch near Cardiff gave more interesting interior shots than exterior.

This was the highlight, the magnificent ceiling in one of the rooms.

Certainly benefited from a reprocess at 5 levels and tonemapping.

For once I got one symmetrical too!

Worth seeing LARGE for detail.

Tournai or Tournay is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the Province of Hainaut, Belgium. It lies 89 km (55 mi) by road southwest of the centre of Brussels on the river Scheldt, and is part of Eurometropolis Lille–Kortrijk–Tournai, In 2022, the municipality of Tournai had an estimated population of 68,518 people.

Tournai is one of the oldest cities in Belgium and has played an important role in the country's cultural history. It was the first capital of the Frankish Empire, with Clovis I being born here.

Tournai lies 89 km (55 mi) by road southwest of the centre of Brussels on the river Scheldt. Administratively, the town and municipality is part of the Province of Hainaut, in the Wallonia region of southwest Belgium. The municipality has an area of 213.75 km2 (82.53 sq mi).

Tournai is considered to be one of the most important cultural sites in Belgium. The mixed Romanesque- and Gothic-style Cathedral of Our Lady and the city's Belfry, considered the oldest in Belgium, have been designated by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. Inside the cathedral, the Châsse de Notre-Dame flamande, a beautifully ornate 12th-century reliquary, gives witness to Tournai's wealth in the Middle Ages.

Other places of interest are the 13th-century Scheldt bridge (Pont des Trous) and the main square (Grand-Place), as well as several old city gates, historic warehouses, and a variety of museums. As in many Belgian cities, there are a number of cafés and pubs on the Grand-Place. In the middle of the square, there are a series of water fountains, while a circular staircase to the top of the Belfry can be climbed.

On the Rue Barre-St-Brice are two of the oldest private houses in Europe, dating from between 1175 and 1200 and built in the Romanesque style, while the Rue des Jésuites includes a Gothic house from the 13th century. There are also several buildings in the Art Nouveau style across the city.

Some of the great Flemish Primitives are from Tournai: Robert Campin, Rogier van der Weyden, and Jacques Daret.

This Ornate Hawk-Eagle was probably the biggest highlight of my trip to Colombia. I heard a noise in a nearby tree and looked up and this hawk-eagle swooped by and landed in this tree next to the lodge. It stayed long enough so many people in our group and a second group got to see it.

Uncommon, spectacular, crested eagle of tropical forest in the lowlands and foothills. Most frequently seen soaring in mid-late morning, but when hunting perches at all levels in the forest interior. Gives far-carrying, hiccupping whistles while flying, indicating its presence. Adult has orangish plumage on the side of its head and boldly barred underparts. The immature, although rarely seen, has a white head and white underparts with barring on the belly. The long and spiky crest is held flat in flight, but can be raised vertically on perched birds.

It was getting dark, and I was about to call it a day when Daniel Parent called out, and Steve Hamilton Hamilton Images looked up in the tree and said it was an eagle. I was lucky to be nearby and was able to get a few frames of this majestic bird.

The Ornate is one of the most distinctive and prettiest !

Easy to miss if you don't look up. The ceilings in some of the mosques and madrassas were beautifully finished.

One of my weirdest creations. At first I thought that would be impossible but the metallic catalogue always surprises me. All the pieces exist in real (the metallic tones look a bit shiner because of the renders).
