What are promises, if not always broken.
Example why this lens was a favorite and garnered praise that it should have been labeled an 'L' lens.
Great rendering across the frame at f/1.8...albeit on APS-C.

Possibly the last of this little series of blossoming blackthorn at Wittenham Clumps. The branches of these trees always fascinate with their complexity, a feast for the eyes to wander. Couple that with a glorious display of white flower and the seem now to be dancing.

The 1909 Terra cotta Alwyn Court Apartments on 58th St and 7th Avenue.I had totally forgotten about this building which was one of the ones I wanted to check out.I knew however that there was something on 58th St,but didn't know what,so I kept it in the back of my big head just in case.Good thing I did. When I arrived at the street I looked up...and the stunning edifice was directly over my head.I was wowed,to say the least! The 12-story building is another Harde & Short designs (scroll four photos down to see the other).Talk about the overuse (or overdose,if you will) of terra cotta ornamentation! The developers Alwyn Ball Jr and Walter Russell held nothing back on this one.In fact, one of them (Russell) fell into bankruptcy and was unable to finish the building.Again, the well-to-do back then were targeted to live in this apartment building. The French Renaissance style building had two apartments per floor, most with fourteen rooms and five baths. One apartment boasted thirty-two rooms and went for $22,000 a year (that's right) at the time! The wealthy tenants who lived in the building could customize their apartments also if they wanted. One tenant had paneling from a French chateau installed and others had billiard rooms or "music conservatories" in theirs. daytoninmanhattan.blogspot.com/2010/07/extravagant-terra-...
Chefchaouen is an ancient city in the Rif mountains of north central Morocco. It's famously known as "The Blue City" due to the use of a pure blue color on the walls of the buildings and passage ways.
Driving through Quebec this gorgeous arful bridge caught my eye, I had to take a pic & share it with you all.
Parroquia de Alcoy | Santa Maria | Church interior | The Parish Church of Santa María de Alcoy is situated in the historic centre of Alcoy, in the Plaza de España. Neoclassical in style and built in the 18th century, its origins date back to the 13th century. The main façade is imposing and stands out for its neoclassical style with columns and pilasters, with two symmetrical bell towers flanking the façade. A large central rose window allows natural light to enter. There is a central dome over the transept, as well as side chapels between the buttresses. Its sober decoration is typical neoclassical, while its high altarpiece is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church suffered major damage during the Spanish Civil War and had to be partially rebuilt. It is one of the most significant religious buildings in Alcoy and is still the centre of many religious and cultural celebrations in the city, including the famous Moors and Christians festivities.
