The fabulous, design of the gorgeous, ornate, fence/gate on Parliament Hill, downtown Ottawa, Canada. They don't make them like this anymore. Love, love, love the detail.
An image of an ornate brass hand bell and its clapper against a red background, taken for the Macro Mondays group theme, "Bells." The bell spans 2.2-inches at its bottom. The scene is a 5-image focus stack composite.
The challenge here was that to get this angle of view the bell had to be suspended by fish line. That created motion issues for the focus stack; one bump of the table required a 10-minute wait for the motion to settle completely.
Strobist info:
The bell was suspended into position, then illuminated by two Nikon SB900 and one SB700 speedlights. The SB900's were placed 90° Camera Left and Camera Right. The CL speedlight was three-feet away and one-foot below the subject, and fired through a Neewer 24" x 24" soft box in Manual mode @ 1⁄8 power. The CR speedlight was three-feet away and six-inches above the subject, also fired through a Neewer 24" x 24" soft box in Manual mode, @ 1⁄16 power. The SB700 was placed one-foot below the subject, pointing directly up at it. It was fired with the built-in wide angle panel deployed, in Manual mode @ 1⁄128 power.
The SB900's were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X's; the SB700 was placed in SU-4 mode and triggered by the other flashes.

Taken in Santa Rosa, CA, USA at Santa Rosa Junior College. I'd seen this bird once before, so I knew it was around. But over the past week, I also found it's favorite flower bed. I'm star-struck to say the least.
Thank you for your views, faves and comments. Deeply appreciated.
In 1928 the Loew's State Theatre opened on Weybosset Street in downtown Providence as an opulently elegant movie house. Over the years its offerings, and its name, changed with the times, going from movies, to concerts of classical music and for a long time a well-known rock-n-roll venue. Saved from the wrecking ball around 1978 and extensively renovated since, the Providence Performing Arts Center today hosts large Broadway productions as well as orchestra performances in its once again majestically opulent surroundings. The theater's Richmond Street entrance still announces the interior grandeur inside. Providence, Rhode Island, USA.
Providencia, Rhode Island, Estados Unidos.
This old metal fence around the Women’s Institute Office, near Trent Bridge and the River Trent, Newark is very ornate and attractive.
If this is original, it somehow escaped the drive for metal during WW2 that caused most metal fences to be cut down and melted to make battleships and planes!
I loved the look of the exterior of this building--with the shapes of the banisters & window guards

The Ornate Day Gecko occurs on Mauritius and surrounding Islands. They are usually found on Palm Trees, however this one had a liking for a fence panel. They vary quite a lot in colour some with turquoise backs with reddish spots. Their diet is insects and nectar. Go Large!
I'm calling this guy stub. Stub out for the morning sunbath before heading out for breakfast.

I liked this ornate frontage of this group of buildings along the main street in Beaconsfield Old Town, taken on my visit this week.
A lot of craftsmanship must have gone into this superb wrought iron gate at Alnwick Garden, Northumberland, England HSS.

Cannock Chase
Once the hunting ground of ancient royalty, Cannock Chase is today a picturesque area of woodland walks, wildlife and superb scenery. Some 3 million people live within 20 miles of the Chase.
At only 26 square miles the Chase is the smallest area to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in mainland Britain. Much of Cannock Chase is owned by Staffordshire County Council and Forestry Commission, which manage part of it as a commercial forest.
