Details
Orientation nearly parallel to the line of performers reduces the stereo effect when viewed as an animated gif but still has sufficient parallax to have depth when free viewed.

The Masonic temple in Atchison, KS was open for viewing one day in July. The archive room is decorated with heiroglyphs and a pharaonic motif, and the stone panel walls are engraved with the names of past masters. It has not been updated since 1984. This stained glass window was back lit with incandescent lights and front lit with fluorescent, giving the blue glare.

Not everyone gets the point of a parasol.
It isn't practical for rain,
It hardly blocks the sun.
But it casts a nice dappled shade,
in a stylish way,

Iron Photographer 216 has me wondering about double exposures. These experiments with the XZ-1's in camera double exposure mode require framing proximate subjects, within 60 seconds, rather than waiting to combine two ideal images.
Tamagawa University Taiko and Dance corps (Tamagawa Taiko) performance 4/14/2014 at Ursinus College. Women are permitted to play a small variety of drums while appearing in feminine garb. Larger set pieces with players dressed in traditionally masculine costume can have women participating, but they are not given the same prominence as the males (no solos to attract attention, not positioned in most visible front rank, not providing the occasional yell that punctuates the physical routine).
I was revisiting older images during a free trial of Topaz clarity and found this portrait. I neglected to make it public but Flickr's camera roll helped me discover and remedy that. The "portrait 1" preset in clarity was used to enhance contrast.

Details
Traffic through Valley Forge park on a windy autumn day. The swaying trees are out of registry the further from the ground you look, but the colorful foliage helps obscure this defect. Their shadows, observed on the road, more pleasingly show this movement on a reasonably sharp background.

Technical Trivia
Three frames taken hand-held were registered before abstracting red, green, and blue channels from sequential images. The color layers recombined to generate this image.
Bruce Banner had a powerful, green alter ego in the Hulk. I got a blue glutton. To paraphrase Bill Bixby's Banner: "Don't make me 'hangry'. You wouldn't like me when I'm 'hangry.' '

This small 12x12 oil was finished a few weeks ago.The compositions are built up mainly of blocks of horizontal lines with a distant hill or treeline , or focal point, there are large areas of negative indeterminate space. The colours are earthy and naturalistic, unlike the more Fauve "Waterstock print 2007" The surfaces are built of heavy texture contrasted with lighter areas of glazed oil or varnished surfaces. They conciously mimick C19 painters like Corot, Constable Daubigny and of course Millais.

Another student recalled, "I never had so much fun! But it was impossible to wash all of the color out of my hair, and the stuff mixed to form a gross brown (that had to be scrubbed from the shower)."

History
In the early 19th century the Wetherill lead mine in Shannonville, PA (later renamed Audubon in honor of a former resident) provided lead for the production of paint. By the 1840s additional copper mining efforts opened a total of nine shafts including the New Perkiomen Mine, Whim Shaft, and the Ecton Mine. These veins were so promising that copper miners were imported from Cornwall, England to support the effort. Production diminished during the following decade culminating in the failure of the enterprise before the Civil War. All that remains above ground are scattered foundations, the smokestack from a facility that pumped water out of the mines, and a curious set of rails over the mine run stream.

On a 5F/-15C day these fellows were out spreading water on the ice to smooth the surface.

A blooming Carolina Spring Beauty (Claytonia caroliniana) is attacked by an unidentified pathogen. This yellow disease seems to be infecting grasses and other plants with equal abandon.

The Oratory School Woodcote 22-2-92", Pam Chilvers assisted by Richard Line, will be performing works by such composers as Holst, Elgar (2502) and (2503), Vaughan Williams and Delius at The Oratory School Woodcote. Reading from Chaucer, Dickens, Shakespeare (2510), and William Blake among others will be presented by Sonya Delamere. Martin Beek has a collection of New Paintings (2501-2536), notably several views of the now famous "Bugs Bottom" and these will be on display and for sale at the back of the hall.
Most of the 300 or more audience arrived in good time to look at an exhibition of paintings by Martin Beek. these , like his American pictures, shown at the last concert, use an impressionist technique, in this case depicting less exotic subjects. Many of the pictures are of the threatened valley, Bugs Bottom, and their fine detail, though confusing if seen too closely, captures the English countryside's details of grass, trees, and damp lowering skies, to perfection. (Three Arts Combined...Senecio 2/92)"In 1992 I was interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire about this series.Q."Bugs Bottom is near my studio, and also my home. It is a place that I've known over about the last twenty years. Walking through Bugs Bottom I pass through an attractive piece of countryside very close at hand, every morning as I go to my studio to paint I pass Bugs Bottom a number of views that I choose to paint which are on display in the book shop are views that I pass and see throughout the seasons. I've tried to capture in these water-colours something of the changing moods of the seasons that I've observed. Its a lovely wide view you can see for a mile or so looking beyond the farm, and I've found it a pleasant view to look at like many Caversham residents. It hasn't changed much, the good thing about it is that it does remain unspoilt largely because the bridle path that runs through the middle of the valley is surrounded by private land, keeping it rural in appearance and charachter. Certainly in the autumn, I miss the summer, one sees some beautiful colours , sometimes the horses or crops in the fields add a touch of colour, although these past few years the fields lie fallow. Its a place where one notices quite a lot going on I've seen foxes there and although I haven't seen them I believe there are badgers there. The technique that I've used as I do on most of my recent water-colours is a divisionist technique, built up with small mosaic like blobs and patches of colour, when one looks close too it can look confusing, but stepping away the picture reveals itself, its like stitches in a tapestry or something like that, rather like if you saw a colour television picture made from lots of dots of light. I prefer working this way than using traditional type water-colour washes; when I was at college I worked on pottery tiles which were also built up in this way with tiny dots of glaze, perhaps lots of my paintings relate back to that. in one painting I hid the subliminal message Save Bugs Bottom among the grasses, although not an active member of this campaign I was in total sympathy with its aim to prevent building upon this stretch of countryside. It would be a tragedy to see it built upon as it looks like its going to be now, it just makes me very sad to think about it. These paintings are a sort of epitaph for vanishing nature." Processing note: This camera needs noise reduction. I used DXO prime, with Fuji Velvia film simulation, followed by Analog Efex (Classic camera 5 preset).
Monotropa Uniflora, also known as ghost plant, corpse plant, or indian pipe, is a parasitic herbaceous perennial plant. As a parasite it needs no chlorophyll, instead deriving necessary energy from its host - commonly mycorrhizal fungi. This macro image tests an in-camera focus stacking feature.

This modified Harris Shutter Effect image generates colored "ghosts" on a black background. Things that move and other registration differences between three more-or-less sequential photos are emphasized while static features turn black. Imperfect registration can leave a faint outline of background details.
Three frames were registered for maximal congruity of background features before a subtractive filter Harris shutter effect was applied.

12x12 oil on canvas Portrait of of my co-exhibitor Keith Lawrence. We both decided to paint each other for this exhibition. I based my portrat of Keith on a Pierre Bonnard selfportrait. Keith worked on mine from a number of photographs that Alison took. I took many photos of Keith earlier this year. I wanted to suggest something of the vibrancy of his paintings in the background, perhaps he look a little too serious but I hope it is an accurate likeness of him.

Stereo realist loaded with long expired Kodak gold 400, causing images to be underexposed. Aggressive noise reduction (Noiseware Pro) followed by BW conversion (DXO filmpack 3, Ilford HPS 800 preset) and color replacement (Topaz Restyle, Dark Eggplant preset) gave the most pleasing result.

Technical trivia
Stereo realist loaded with 15-20 year expired Kodak gold 400, causing images to have a narrow dynamic range. This roll was pushed 1 stop in processing, moving details to a brighter part of the spectrum, but the negatives were still low in contrast. To fix this a high contrast curve was applied (Lightroom) then the palette was replaced (Topaz Restyle, custom Xpro Ektachrome preset) to achieve this result.
