Neue Route, Neue Bilder: Der Orient Express 13467, angeführt von den beiden Re 4/4 11146 und 11135 mit einem 17-Wagen-Zug bei Bollodingen, nahe Herzogenbuchsee (Schweiz). Das Gewicht des Zuges beträgt 1018 Tonnen bei einer Länge von 480m. Der Extrazug ist unterwegs in Richtung Lötschberg und wird am Abend in Venedig Santa Lucia (Italien) eintreffen.
New route, new pictures: The Orient Express 13467, led by the Re 4/4 11146 and 11135 with a 17 car train at Bollodingen, near Herzogenbuchsee (Switzerland). The weight of the train is 1018 tons with a length of 480m. The special train is on its way towards Lötschberg and will arrive in Venice Santa Lucia (Italy) in the evening.

De hoofdreden om langs deze lijn te gaan staan was de Oriënt Express die nogmaals langs moest komen. Met de ietwat saaie Sybic 26019 op kop komt aan het begin van de avond het geheel voorbij als trein 27091 naar Parijs Est. Later zal onder hetzelfde nummer doorgereden worden naar Straatsburg en Basel SBB (en uiteindelijk Venetië).

The 'secret' Orient Express formed of genuine heritage cars is based in Paris and is used exclusively by SNCF French railways for its supported charites and for its own corporate use.
The Pullman Orient Express is an authentic train in the style of the genuine Orient Express. The decor, staff uniforms and cuisine are faithful to the original 1920s / 1930s trains.
The dining car was used on the Flèche d'Or route in France in the 1920s and 1930s between London and Paris; the English part of the route was known as the Golden Arrow.

Die 628 309 fährt mit dem Orient-Express nach Tapolca, aufgenommen am 05. September 2017. Die 418 321 und die 418 308 haben hinter der Sergej die Wagen mit dem Storm besorgt.

In den Sommermonaten verkehrte der Orientexpreß zwischen Stuttgart und München oft zweiteilig. Den Vorzug durfte meist eine Stuttgarter 110er an den Haken nehmen. Der Stammzug war dann Leistung einer 103.
Kurz nach Durchfahren des Haltepunktes Salach ist 110 297 mit einer hauptsächlich aus französischen UIC-Wagen bestehenden Garnitur unterwegs.
It took me more than a year before I found the right moment to visit this old train. It is situated on an active rail site where a lot of trains pass by.
After we did a location early morning we decided to pay the Orient Express a visit.
One thing's for sure: They don't make trains like these anymore!
Big sofa's inside the carriage and a lot of space. Made to travel in the most convenient way. Until you check the area where the engineer aka train driver did his job. A big dieselmachine right behind the steering weel and big pipes throughout the room, probably filled with hot fumes or liquids when it was operational. A big contrast to the confortable carriages in the back.
Of these dieselelectric trains only three were built in the 1930's and this piece is the only one left....

Het was al enige tijd bekend dat De Oriënt Express dit jaar naar Nederland zou komen. Het was nog even spannend gezien de coronaperikelen, maar de reis is met gepaste maatregelen onderweg. Op de heenweg vanuit Italië naar Nederland was er vijf uur vertraging opgetreden als gevolg van hevig noodweer op het traject in Zwitserland. Mijn besluit was dan ook om donderdag 24 juni naar Amsterdam te gaan om daar het vertrek van de trein vast te leggen. Ook qua tractie was het nog even spannend; velen hoopten tevergeefs op een historische elektrische locomotief of een stoomlocomotief als tractie; het werd echter Lineas 186 293-7 die voor de rijtuigen gehangen werd.

hier hatte ich kein Glück mit der Sonne, aber das Motiv in Hiltersdorf ist auch so ganz nett.
Op zondag 18 mei reed de luxueuze Venice Simplon Oriënt Expres naar Brugge, en ging later in de middag weer retour. De ochtend werd vroeg tegemoet gezien, terwijl het eerste daglicht net tevoorschijn kwam.
Na een lange autorit werd een mogelijke stek bij Dinant bereikt, alwaar ook besloten werd om voor deze stek te gaan.
Zeer punctueel passeert deze prachtige trein, bestaande uit 17 rijtuigen, de 2 fotografen bij Dinant. Dat de trein er bijna was, dat wisten wij 3 minuten voor doorkomst hier al .. De machinist op de lok gebruikte de tyfoon overmatig in en rond Dinant, maar ook hier werd er nog veelvuldig gebruikt van gemaakt.

In March 2005, a special train was organized by the Greek friends of the railway, led by the only operational steam locomotive Λβ 964...
The trip started from Drama Railway Station and ended in Xanthi Railway Station with many intermediate stops to take photos of this special train.
The picture depicts the closed Railway Station of Platania.
Unfortunately nowdays the station has burned down completely...
