op 24 juni 2021 vertrok de VSOE (Venice Simplon Orient Express) van uit Amsterdam. De route door Nederlaand liep via Utrecht, 's-Hertogenbosch, breda en Roosendaal vooordat de trein de grens over stak en haar reis via België en Frankrijk en Zwitserland zou voor zetten om uiteindelijk in het Italiaanse Venetië te eindigen.
Lineas 186 293 mocht de tractie leveren voor het eerste deel van de reis. Lineas 186 293 met trein 19203 komt bij Tricht aan het kleine groep fotograven voorbij.

On June 24, 2021, the VSOE (Venice Simplon Orient Express) departed from Amsterdam. The route through Nederlaand ran via Utrecht, 's-Hertogenbosch, Breda and Roosendaal before the train crossed the border and would continue its journey through Belgium and France and Switzerland to eventually end in Venice in Italy.
Lineas 186 293 was allowed to provide the traction for the first part of the journey. Lineas 186 293 with train 19203 passes the small group of photographers near Tricht.

De meest luxe trein die je kunt boeken is ongetwijfeld de Venice Simplon-Oriënt-Express. Hij komt nu ook incidenteel naar Amsterdam, en daarom was er vandaag in Haarlem een perspresentatie. De 17 rijk gedecoreerde rijtuigen dateren van 1926-1931.
Een enkele reis van of naar Venetië in een Grand Suite zoals deze - er gaan drie Grand Suites in een rijtuig - zit wel in het topsegment, met een prijs van tegen de 8000 euro

Die 01 519 der Eisenbahnfreunde Zollernbahn (EFZ) befährt landschaftlich reizvolle Strecken im Südwesten Deutschlands. So kam sie mit einer interessanten Mischung aus historischen Rheingold- und Orient-Express-Wagen auch auf die Donautalbahn, wo sie bei Inzigkofen die damaligen Einfahrsignale passiert.

The Orient Express was a luxury passenger train service that operated across continental Europe from 1883 to 2009. It was renowned for its opulent carriages, gourmet cuisine, and the sense of glamour and intrigue it evoked. (Source: Wikipedia) While the original service no longer exists, there are some travel agencies that try to perpuate the name and the spirit of the Orient Express though making use of current train service. This is the current train that took me from Wien to Budapest to replicate the same route.

Une BR 101 en tête de l'EN 265 "Orient-Express" Strasbourg 22h20 - Wien Westbf 08h35 au passage à Ebersberg À noter que seules les 5 voitures de queue sont en provenance de Strasbourg (1 WL + 2 Bcmz + 2 B).
Les 8 voitures de tete sont en provenance d'Amsterdam et ont été raccordées sur l'EN 265 à Karlsruhe Hbf.

Durante il pomeriggio del 12 Giugno 2021 e' transitato, nei pressi di Coltano (Pisa ), un invio a vuoto dalla Francia a Roma, di 6 vetture CIWL Orient Express, trazionate nella tratta Italiana dalla E402_160.
Bij het plaatsje Wacquinghen werd de gewenste plek in het veld gevonden en kon het wachten beginnen. De Oriënt Express zou namelijk via de route Amiens-Boulogne naar Calais rijden, wat de inzet van BB67400 zou moeten betekenen. Helaas is er op het gehele dieselbaanvak geen enkele locatie te vinden waar de zon goed staat voor de VSOE. Gelukkig rijden de locs die in Amiens voor de trein gezet worden helemaal door naar Calais, en zijn er ten noorden van Boulogne wel een paar plekken waar de zon goed staat. Zodoende wel een foto onder de draad, maar de locatie is er naar mijn idee niet minder om.
In een gestaag tempo klimmen de 67451 en 67626 met een vijftiental bijzonder fraaie rijtuigen de helling op tussen Boulogne en Caffiers, vanaf daar is het enkel nog dalen naar het eindpunt Calais Ville. De BB67400’n zullen vanaf daar weer los terugkeren naar Boulogne om de volgende dag een TER naar Amiens te rijden. De VSOE vertrok aan het begin van de avond met e-loc weer richting Parijs en Venetië.
L'Orient-Express faisait à nouveau quelques passages en Belgique, à l'occasion de 2 aller-retours Venise - Amsterdam via Aken et Bruxelles.
J'avais prévu d'attendre son passage à Wonck mais une averse survenue en plein champ après quelques minutes m'a décidé à choisir un autre endroit où je pouvais m'abriter et surtout sécher et abriter mon appareil photo dans la voiture.
Je me suis donc rendu dans les environs de Tongres où l'absence de soleil et un monticule de terre accumulée, offraient un point de vue passable.
Le temps ne cessait de s'assombrir et le monticule devenait de plus en plus instable. Heureusement, l'Orient-Express ne devait plus tarder.

I can’t recall why but back in 2004 I called in at London Victoria station and found platform 2 occupied by 67021 in charge of an Orient Express working. Alas it looks like I made a slight misalignment when I lined up for this shot.

Het was deze "Hommel" 561-04 ,nog steeds in dienst van RTBCargo en in haar mooi oranje kleedje!
