Experience the world-class Orient Express style in one day on the British Pullman, with a wealth of journeys from which to choose, starting from and returning to London as well as other favourite cities and towns in Great Britain.
The British Pullman takes its name from George Mortimer Pullman, an American, who in 1864 built The Pioneer, the first railway carriage designed with true comfort for the passenger. The later creation of the Pullman Car Company in 1882 led to his domination of luxury train travel in the US and later, Great Britain. Rail cars based on the principles of full-service Pullman rail travel were included in many trains across Europe. After a period of decline in the second half of the twentieth century, the Venice-Simplon Orient Express led the way in introducing the travelling public to the delights of luxury trains once again, resulting in this sister train that has carried Royalty and Heads of State around Great Britain.
Step aboard and be taken back to the heyday of great train travel.

Traffic was backed up for miles.... and dozens of cop cars wanted to get out, their lights flashing (undercover and marked). Evidently some crime had been committed, and... well, so whatever. The four lane Boulevard is split by a fence, so there's no getting around it. The look on the cops' faces... And yet, vendors quickly swooped in with simits and other goodies to tempt frustrated drivers. Old Istanbul, Turkey

After Arnhem the trip continued to Deventer from which the journey routed to Amsterdam again.
We travelled through Terschuur on the line Apeldoorn - Amersfoort to spot it another time.
When arriving the weather was prety nice - for a grey day. At time of passing a nice cloud with light drizzle ruined this spot also ;(
NSR 1756 passes with the 17 coaches of the OriëntExpress on its way to Amsterdam. Later this evening the journey will continue, after a long stopover in Amsterdam, to Venice.
As a first-time attendee, I didn't really have the plan to display, but I brought a few of my trains to potentially run at Brickworld. The kind folks of the LGMS Layout set out these tables for those that didn't have a display to set out their trains.
Here's the whole thing, featuring my hand-made placard
This is evidently City Hall for Istanbul. The gates are protected by serious-looking guards toting automatic weapons. Old Istanbul, Turkey

The VSOE British Pullman - sister train to the Orient Express - arrives back at London Victoria station just after 4pm on Wednesday April 24 2013. A West London Circular afternoon return excursion to Guildford, hauled as usual by Clan Line but slightly different to the usual Surrey Hills trip - with the train hired for a celebration of Yorkshire Tea. "Tea On The Train" was a special treat for tea lovers who also appreciate steam when not coming from a kettle.
