It took me more than a year before I found the right moment to visit this old train. It is situated on an active rail site where a lot of trains pass by.
After we did a location early morning we decided to pay the Orient Express a visit.
One thing's for sure: They don't make trains like these anymore!
Big sofa's inside the carriage and a lot of space. Made to travel in the most convenient way. Until you check the area where the engineer aka train driver did his job. A big dieselmachine right behind the steering weel and big pipes throughout the room, probably filled with hot fumes or liquids when it was operational. A big contrast to the confortable carriages in the back.
Of these dieselelectric trains only three were built in the 1930's and this piece is the only one left....

VSOE Tug: not the obvious traction for the Orient Express, but Loadhaul-liveried 60059 Swinden Dalesman, then owned by EWS, is pictured shunting the VSOE stock in Norwich. 47792 had worked 1L92 0945 Victoria-Norwich, and would return to the capital as 1O25 1545 Norwich-Victoria, but the 60 was utilised to shunt release the Class 47.
5Z83 Lincoln Central to Doncaster Belmont Down Yard ecs approaching Finningley, 8th December 2017. The train had originated at London Victoria, leaving it's passengers at Lincoln to enjoy the Christmas market in some glorious winter weather; before heading to Doncaster for servicing. Pole shot.
Taken through a window, in fairly difficult lighting conditions, the Orient Express stands at St Pancras International, as part of the launch of the movie 'Murder on the Orient Express'.
Just after I took this, the area was roped off, which is a real shame as it was the best view for the public to have of this train.

Doordat deze trein kop moest maken in Bressoux konden we de trein makkelijk inhalen en een foto maken op het uiteinde van het perron in Luik-Guillemins.
1354 met een overbrenging van de prestigieuze Orient-Express van Paris-Est naar Liège-Guillemins.

Het voltooien van de grote renovatie van het hoge, 1200 meter lange Viaduct van Moresnet werd gevierd met een speciale trein Brussel Zuid - Gemmenich v.v. op 02-10-2004.
NMBS 201.010 + Oriënt Express + NMBS 7751 naderde hier het keerpunt van de rit, kort voor de Tunnel van Botzelaer onder het Drielandenpunt.
