I've seen the bath mat sitting on the floor tiles thousands of times but this morning, in a philosophical frame of mind, I saw it as symbolising the concept of ORDER versus DISORDER at both levels ... the individual / the self ... and the social / society.
Having captured the germ of the idea with the photo I immediately thought that the apparently disorderly bath mat had many positive attributes that act as a counterpoint to the apparently positive attributes of the perfectly ordered tiles. Then by analogy the idea came ... could this form of thinking be applied firstly to individual human thought at the psychological level and then on into pros and cons within society with a more sociological, ethnological and political level of examination?
Having done a bit more searching I can see that this author has probably done the work for me so I've bought the book:
"The Order-Disorder Paradox: Understanding the Hidden Side of Change in Self and Society" (Nathan Schwartz-Salant. 2017).
The 10 through ace of the royal flush represents order to me. What I like about the photo is the story. One player showing the hand and the opponent in the background looking at his cards.
What I don't like is the amount of light on the opponents left arm. I would probably change the positioning of the card players as they are sitting at the table in hopes of changing the lighting just a bit.
Instead of a notepad method, many traditional eateries in Asia provide order forms listing everything on the menu. Just mark how many of each dish you'd like.
The curves around MP 181 restrict the traffic to slower speeds, so some crews dubbed it the Government Slow Order due to its proximity to a lock and dam on the Mississippi River nearby. Here's IC&E's MNAWA navigating the curves between LeClaire and Pleasant Valley, IA.

In the temple district of Shanghai you can do a lot of shopping, eating, and other things if you want to. While I was wandering through the streets I saw this chef who make to order a flat bread almost like a pancake that you could put fruit or other things inside. Most of the people would get onion, chives, banana or pineapple put into theirs.

I spent the evening just taking photos of this piece and then admiring the real thing. The pink opal stones are an amazing pink which is not fully reflected in this photo. Bead spacers and toggle are sterling silver whilst the 4 larger silver beads are Karen hilltribe silver.
