On a rare sunny afternoon, a southbound VRE approaches Crystal City with the Washington Monument in the background. Known as "RO", the control point just out of frame is named for Roslyn Operator, which is the tower that would've controlled this very busy stretch of railroad back in the day. The RF&P is about to be transformed into an even busier triple and quad tracked mainline from DC to Richmond, as demand for both freight and passenger trains frequently exceeds capacity.
Just realised that there is a slight resemblance between the G-Bricks "Task Force Operator" and Ghost from MW2, so I decided to paint one up like him.
I would have gone with the single shot the figure, but I like the right side of the rifle better, so I wanted to show that off ; )
I didn't include the mic on the headset, as it obscured the Skull paint job, so I will add that and a TaskForce 141 patch on the right arm later.
Lastly, yes, I need a new custom background ; )
She looks like she's 14 - I think her shirt says "Proud to be Alsatian"
Funny that it said so in English..
This is a photo for GI Brick. It features three particular Brickarms accessories: the gunmetal Modern Combat Helmet, the light-weight combat vest (SAW) and the XMP! Comments and constructive criticism are appreciated!
This is what happens when someone pushes the wrong button on an industrial oven to racks of plastic trays full of meat products. Instead of steam cooking the product, the operator selected roasting....at much higher temperature

SAS Radio Operator - from the Action Force series of figures. SAS Force did not have their own Op so I borrowed a Z-Force operator backpack and gave him a new M-16 from my bits box.
Just a quick fig using a new CitizenBrick torso. The torso is fantastic, Thanks Joe!

Enjoy
We had booked a hire car through Sixt for our time in Ivano-Frankivsk in order to head out of the city to photographic spots that were hard to reach by train. Having had a bad experience of the company before on a trip to Latvia/Lithuania we didn't really know what to expect when we left the station to collect our car, especially as they didn't actually have an office in the city and we'd have to collect it off a 'representative'! Sure enough though after giving them a call they appeared with our vehicle and soon we were making our way out of the city on some of Ukraine's finest pot-holed roads.
From our research we'd seen a well photographed spot from an overbridge at Yezupil' around 30 mins outside Ivano-Frankivsk but just as we parked up a 2M62 hauled freight blasted passed underneath. We attempted to chase it but gave up and headed back to the bridge in the hope that something else would turn up. It wasn't long before we heard another freight train powering up the gradient and we were rewarded with 2M62-0755a/b of the Ivano-Frankivsk Cement Company. This private operator is one of very few in Ukraine and has a small fleet of locos to haul stone trains the short distance between their quarry at Dubivtsi and cement factory at Yamnytsia. The loco is seen here wearing the smart livery of the company at Yezupil' with a rake of hoppers for Yamnytsia on 23rd October 2019.
Lightbox.
The soldier who ordered this slick rifle wanted his father's VN-era M16 in his hands on his next mission. To do that, the entire firing mech had to be replaced with a more reliable modern M16 unit, and the upper receiver was replaced with an elevated rail Sweetwater custom.
In addition, SPW fabricated our own ultra lighweight two-piece polymer composite handgaurd with an aluminum heatshield. The original lower receiver was remilled with a solid-latch sliding fire selector and rubberized grip pads on the front, and the original solid stock was refinished, bored out and fitted with a sliding rubberized cheekrest on the left and top of the weapon.
The iron sights have been replaced with a tritium front ring and post and an illuminated shaded notch at the rear. Uses polymer magazines. The new RSCT red dot completes the all-purpose package.

Ignore the fig dump filler content, there is something on the way. Thanks for taking a look!
"..There was a single light illuminating the gunsmith as he worked. Outside of his small pool of light, he was surrounded by a vast expense of darkness. Out in the darkness were machines, mills, and presses. Those machines once helped create the finest quality firearms in their trade. Now they sat idled, covered with a thick coat of dust..The gunsmith finished his work, there was one last order to fill. The rifle was loaded into a pelican case and sealed. Its contents were brought to the front of the shop to be sent out. The gunsmith hung up his apron, locked up his tools, and turned the light out. Halfway out the door he stopped. He looked back to ponder but was greeted only by the thick darkness that now enveloped the shop. He stepped forward and let the door close shut. He continued on his way..."
That's all folks.

Just a quick fig to showcase a new BA mod.
The gun is a modded BA PDW (with shortened rails to accept a SiDan scope) with a Mega Bloks silencer painted and glued on the end. The silencer was originally a horrible tan color, works great for mods though!
Fig was kinda slapped together but I like the combos of the armor/arms/legs/balaclava.
Got another GARC on the way!

New York Central operator Louis Rusk is seen handing up orders to the rear conductor on an eastbound PRR train with PRR caboose # 477319 at Kentland, Indiana in the mid 1960's. In the next 10 years, Penn Central would control both routes at this intersection and the tower would be gone. By the 1980's, Conrail and the Santa Fe would be coming through here as well as Milwaukee Road trains.
I have many orders that Mr. Rusk wrote to NYC trains. Someone from Kentland just identified him to me very recently.
The photographer and exact date are unknown.
View is looking W/N/W. Below is a link to one of my photos from near the same location and angle, 20 years later as a kid.

our customer requested a Custom Colt Python with a custom built on rail system and a still classic feeling. so that is what SPW achieved with the original grip shape. modified with a prototype gel that molds it self to the shooters needs.
