I was asked about how these images looked in color. Well, here it goes.
In many ways, color adds dimension to the images that seems to be lacking in the B&W versions.

Shes curious and loves to see what there is to see when we take her on hikes. I hope whoever we can find to take her in will take her places as well. If i didnt already have 4 dogs, one of which is a bitch and does not care for Dresden at all, I would keep her. She is such a sweetheart it will be hard when I finally do see her move on.
Oh legions of hawkers of fame!

At a ruin called "the citadel" at sunset crater just north of Flagstaff this crow flew by me with his lunch.

Taken from below there was a lot of bright bright sky behind the bird that was cropped out, took a lot of tweaking to recover the detail of this bird without a lot of noise.
Thanks to digikam and gimp I think this image was saved from being total garbage.
Whenever I travel I find many things that attract my "eye". On this trip I realized that there must be just as many interesting things in my home town. If only I looked with a different "eye". I noticed how much my "story" of where and how I live narrows my participation of a place. Seems to me that maybe I need to be more curious and open to the world around me so that I can experience things like I do when I travel.
Dresden and my wife attempt to give me a heart attack by standing way too close to the edge of a deep deep canyon on the Apache Trail just outside of Phoenix.
Using the HDR tone-mapping techniques that I've been developing recently, I wanted to see how pure B&W might work. These are desaturated from the original.

The experience that led us to trading this car in for a 2005 Nissan Xterra with four wheel drive. We had to creep up the long winding mountain roads at 5-10 mph while trucks with four wheel drive sped past us. We also had to creep back down.
Not far from the campsite I had to stop and shoot what is probably my personal best sunrise shot.
I really need to learn some technique when it comes to such shots. I always seem to blow it somehow.
A crop might be in order for this shot.
Chill'n by the blockhouse.
