This image was taken a few years ago while I was strolling through fields in Kerry one summer and came across this rusted old bath - as you do!
Today began the open streets New York program. Every Saturday during the month of August certain streets in the five boroughs will be closed to car traffic but open to bicycling walking, jogging, etc. This is a stretch of upper Broadway between 125th St. and 127th streets with the elevated train tracks that take the number one train down to South Ferry. It was a perfect day to be out exploring the neighborhood. I believe Broadway was open the entire length of Manhattan. It was very cool.

Taking this picture was more dangerous than you'd expect - it was windy and I was just below that chestnut tree, which kept throwing chestnuts at me!

Renaissance style.
Built in 1547 (architect : Philibert de l'Orme) but plundered then largely destroyed in 1798 (end of French Revolution)
Only one wing out of three is remaining today, but the entrance, tribute to mythological Diana the Huntress, is still in good status.
Today the building is a private property, but periodically open to public during summer.
Now Open!
