Seyðisfjörður is a remote fisherman village in the far east of Iceland. It is accessible by a mountain pass road that is open only in summer. We traveled by night to get good light for photography, and slept in the morning. We arrived at the picturesque town at around 3:30 in the early morning for sunrise. The center has a nice colorful footpath with shops on both sides. OPIÐ means open.
I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

My goal with this series is to explore every day scenes under the cover of darkness. A street corner, a lamp post, a doorway. Big city, small town, urban, rural. Just back from a few days visiting family in Birmingham, England. The whole of the city centre in Birmingham has been dug up in order for tram lines to be laid, so it was nice to escape from all the noise and chaos and take a walk along the canal. Image taken on my phone so a bit grainy!!

This image was taken a few years ago while I was strolling through fields in Kerry one summer and came across this rusted old bath - as you do!
Today began the open streets New York program. Every Saturday during the month of August certain streets in the five boroughs will be closed to car traffic but open to bicycling walking, jogging, etc. This is a stretch of upper Broadway between 125th St. and 127th streets with the elevated train tracks that take the number one train down to South Ferry. It was a perfect day to be out exploring the neighborhood. I believe Broadway was open the entire length of Manhattan. It was very cool.
