The Official RFL weekend starts THIS Saturday June 11
Just back from a few days visiting family in Birmingham, England. The whole of the city centre in Birmingham has been dug up in order for tram lines to be laid, so it was nice to escape from all the noise and chaos and take a walk along the canal. Image taken on my phone so a bit grainy!!

Sixpenny Handley Hundred was a hundred in the county of Dorset, England. It originally consisted of two distinct hundreds: Sexpena and Hanlega. Sometime around the 14th century, the two hundreds were united as the hundred of "Sexpenne et Henle".Wikipedia
Just a few miles north of the beachside Black Skimmers was the annual US Open of Surfing. My early morning efforts didn't yield the best images I've ever taken but ya takes what the conditions serve up. I do like the action inside the curl before the wave breaks, like this, as the female contestant slides down the wave.
Fishermen break through thick harbor ice to brave the frigid waters of Lake Michigan on a cold (14 F) morning.
Taking this picture was more dangerous than you'd expect - it was windy and I was just below that chestnut tree, which kept throwing chestnuts at me!
