Sirius and Gaia 1 cluster

Sirius and Gaia 1 cluster, discovered only in 2017 (S.E. Koposov et al. 2017). This open cluster has been under everyone's nose for centuries without ever being noticed.
Gaia 1 includes no less than 1200 stars at a distance of about 15,000 ly and an age of about 6Gy.

I finally received my print today that I won from Grant. Oh my goodness. It's just so glorious! And huge.
Hmm. I wanted to do an outdoor shot today but there were soooooo many birds around the area that kept flocking around and I was scared that it was gonna turn out like the movie 'Birds' where all the birds attacked people because of hallucination.

Nyerere in February, there’s a lot of water around this time of year and a lot of green. You get a lot of waders this time of year. These specialist storks have a gap in their beaks for cracking open snails.

I seem to remember a few years ago that because of a territorial spat whereby Stagecoach spread south westwards from their traditional old Devon General area, First retaliated by moving into the Torbay open top market. Here in the summer of 2007 one of their converted ex Bristol Roe bodied Leyland Olympians A813 THW heads into Torquay with a less than impressive load.
