Some hearts weren't meant to grow wings and fly to another to find nest. Some hearts are made to be kept within the ribbed cage it came, glowing as a bright candle in the curve, radiantly wholesome of oneself.

Sometimes I think we are all guilty of allowing perfection to erode confidence when in the expression of art, in its many, sometimes in fact, its infinite forms, that one is disillusioned until the abridging of expression and allowance of imperfection is somewhat lost, entangled in the needy concentration of being so particular, so acute and if I dare so maddening toward oneself, that the real picture of the moment as was is completely lost.

I took this daytime long exposure and I hated it, so many technical mistakes, unsteady camera, over-exposed, motion blur, blah, blah, blah and more bloody blah. But then I slapped it into Monochrome and instantly I was reminded of the sense of the timelessness, that the moment was trying to convey. After all, was the Heron bothered, does the water stop flowing, does the day stand still, absolutely not. So I was left with a sense of realisation that this is what it is, and therefore, should be allowed to breathe as such.

In reference to Miserere Mei, this is one of my favourite pieces by the Oxford Chamber Choir and this image reminded me of it, I've popped the link down below; anyhow, we're nearly there my friends, I trust everyone has a great weekend, sorry this was so long winded, but as always, thank you! :)

Ataraxia (Ἀταραξία "tranquility") is a Greek term used by Pyrrho and Epicurus for a lucid state, characterized by freedom from worry or any other preoccupation.

For the Epicureans, ataraxia was synonymous with the only true happiness possible for a person.

It signifies the state of robust tranquility that derives from eschewing faith in an afterlife, not fearing the gods because they are distant and unconcerned with us, avoiding politics and vexatious people, surrounding oneself with trustworthy and affectionate friends and, most importantly, being an affectionate, virtuous person, worthy of trust.

So often as you begin to walk into the great forests of the Pacific Northwest, you get a sense of entering a forest primeval and that, like "Hansel & Gretel" you must not forget your bread crumbs. This photo was taken near Kalaloch on the Washington coast.

"Solitude is the soil in which genius is planted, creativity grows, and legends bloom; faith in oneself is the rain that cultivates a hero to endure the storm, and bear the genesis of a new world, a new forest."

Thanks so much for your time !!

Thank you for always having lots of Fav ♥

Many thanks to you !! ♥

Do we always have to do things a certain way? Do we really have to constantly meet a specific expectation? I noticed that especially in art/photography--something that is said to be creativity--there are an enormous amount of rules. "Guide lines" if you want to go easy. "Rules can be broken" if you want to take it with humor. And yet there are all those rules. And if you go against them, your creation is considered "bad". But isn't creativity an expression of oneself? A child playing all by him or herself? Or is it in the end only an idea bound to walk the line?

"In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog.

Several days ago, since I published a photo with this topic, I knew there was something in it. As I do several shots of different approaches, I discovered this. Without a doubt, I had to resort to searching for a trailer or something, that would indicate to me that my idea was correct. Well, yes, the Link with which my description begins, going to 0.37 exact seconds, there it was. It is not a revaluation of a movie, which I find slow and I prefer the book, than the adptacion of Roman Polanski. But that is secondary . Those of us who obsess with an image know that having found the reason, is in some way, having found the certain success, ... for oneself: :))

“To be happy in this world, especially when youth is past, it is necessary to feel oneself not merely an isolated individual whose day will soon be over, but part of the stream of life flowing on from the first germ to the remote and unknown future.”

- Bertrand Russell

Love and hate have a magical transforming power. They are the great soul changers. The price of hating other human beings is loving oneself less. Hate leaves ugly scars; love leaves beautiful ones.

A journey.

Through musical notes

And long-lasting darkness.

Step after step, dreaming awake.

Searching inside,

Resting on the emotional thickness of music.

Leaning

On the very threshold of oneself.

Silent togetherness.

Living on a lighted stage

Approaches the unreal

For those who think and feel

In touch with some reality

Beyond the gilded cage

Cast in this unlikely role

Ill-equipped to act

With insufficient tact

One must put up barriers

To keep oneself intact

Living in the limelight

The universal dream

Those who wish to be

Must put aside the alienation

Get on with the fascination

The real relation

Living in a fish eye lens

Caught in the camera eye

I have no heart to lie

I can't pretend a stranger

Is a long-awaited friend

All the world's indeed a stage

And we are merely players

Performers and portrayers

Each another's audience

Outside the gilded cage

Elitist or Entitled? which am I? I’m not sure where I fall…Hum let me see what the dictionary says:

Entitled- Definition….believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

"his pompous, entitled attitude"

Elitist- Definition……..demonstrating a superior attitude or behavior associated with an elite.

"some that say he is a spoiled, elitist snob"

Neither sounds like a camp that I’d want to be in.

The motives for withholding locations are far ranging from “save the location”, to “save the animals” to “save the unprepared from themselves” undisclosed locations…….secret places, are we elitists or are we entitled? Those that cherish the outdoors have seen the ramifications of location over saturation, and they “are” concerned. Of course, it’s because these are the most beautiful places on Earth and they would like to see that future generations can enjoy them as well. Doesn’t sound bad to me? The problem than lies within the human spirit, the spirit to set out and seek what’s out there, to see and feel and smell it with our own senses and take in the scene in all it’s natural glory. If your an inhabitant of this planet than it’s you’re right to see it, of course it is!! The real problem is the person that just purchased a camera and has never been outside the city in his or her life, do i want to give out a location that I shot in the backcountry of the Grand Tetons? If I want to eliminate them than Yes, they would be grizzly scat by morning. But If I’m concerned for their safety or the preservation of the location than NO. How am I to decide who gets a location or not, by deciding am I than elitist? Man and his devices have traveled into the far reaches of this galaxy and beyond and found no solid evidence of life, and the fact that we have been on this planet for just the blink of an eye makes me think that this planet is a gift more than it is a privilege.

IMHO, This planet belongs to every human being but it is a gift and not a privilege!!! does that makes me elitist or just concerned? If you have no outdoor experience than please prepare yourself to see it safely and responsibly. :-)

A lamella, or gill, is a papery hymenophore rib under the cap of some mushroom species. The gills are used by the mushrooms as a means of spore dispersal, and are important for species identification.

I was so happy that I discovered this group of mushrooms growing near our cedar tree. For this shot, I was even willing to sprawl in wet soil. Sometimes the best shots require a willingness to put oneself in uncomfortable positions. The payoff is usually worth it!

Moon Bathing

Do you ever look up at the stars in disbelief and realize how insignificant you are in the grand scheme of things?

“Moonbathing is the practice of placing oneself under the moon, either seated or lying down, clothed or disrobed, just as you would when you sunbathe. We do this to receive the nourishing rays of the Moon Light and healing energy that is ever-present when working with the moon and its phases”.

I also forest bath.. and wind bath... and anything that brings me closer to the earth.

Happy sunny week to all :-)

A place I like:

In the heart of the Black Forest is Lake Schluchsee situated,

altitude: 935 m.

It is the largest one of the typical lakes in the Black Forest, surrounded by high firs.

It is relaxing to make oneself comfortable on the terrace of

the romantic Café there, enjoying the lovely view.

The building is a former hunting lodge.

explored #55!

Modern tourism has created a culture of many people using maps where major photographic attractions are being signalled and they basically dart from one "attraction" to the next, which makes countries like Iceland appearing to be reduced to its ten most famous waterfalls, its ten bestest mountains and fiercestest volcanos and that's about it. This kind of tourism promotes blinding oneself for the beauty around us on every step, reducing countries, regions or landscapes to a chain of hotspots and drive-through areas. I find this so lamentable for if we go slow and open our eyes, we see beauty everywhere and it does not take a *****attraction to feel happy and find something worthy to be photographed.

speaking to oneself on Main street, Plett

Our ancestors strived with the

momentous job of survival

Still, they really wanted to be artists.

So, in the free time they didn’t actually have,

they would hunt for any natural canvas and

gather whatever tool they could find.

Scratch and scrawl to their heart's delight.

We know a little bit about who we were

when the cost of living was much less

and the cost of death was much higher.

Because we see the drawings

in the oldest museums

and the need for communication

still existing in ourselves.

You think that art is dormant

Hibernating for a season

or a several centuries.

But it lives inside of you.

The need to express oneself

is exactly what makes us human.

Only, we no longer own our own caves.

The real estate has just become too expensive

Profit over people is a reality

And so we take over public spaces

as if they were still ours

telling the world

in broken up fragments

about how we really miss our former selves.

"For me, the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity, the maters of the instant which, in visual terms, questions and decides simultaneouly. In order to "give a meaning" to the world, one has to feel oneself involved in what frames through the viewfinder. This attitude requires concentration, a discipline of mind, sensitivity, and a sense of geometry." Henri Cartier-Bresson

I will add to this and say a sense of the absurd, a sense of play, and a bit of craziness are also part of the mix.

A Japanese maple I set out to see for myself.

Moody streets all to oneself :)

"The final mystery is oneself. When one has weighed the sun in the balance, and measured the steps of the moon, and mapped out the seven heavens star by star, there still remains oneself.

Who can calculate the orbit of his own soul?"

Oscar Wilde

"Mud walking (in Dutch: wadlopen) is an exciting and adventurous way of acquainting oneself with a unique nature reserve, the Wadden Sea, also the largest continuous national park in Europe. During low-tide, shallows fall dry making it possible to cross the bottom of the sea.

These shallows consist of sandbanks, criss-crossed with trenches and gullies. During a typical mud walk, hikers wrestle through miles of mire and thigh-deep brown mud, wade through channels of waist high water before arriving on one of the islands in the Wadden Sea."

info-internet

Make sure you have a guided tour and only when the weather conditions are right!

For now it was nice to make a very short walk ;-)) The Wadden Sea is such a great place to visit if you love nature and silence.

Happy monochrome Thursday !

The next few days will be filled with raindrops falling from the sky. Some photographers would put away their cameras with such news. However, there are all sorts of possible ways to challenge oneself.

Photographing bubble solution is one of the best ways to dive into a ultra small world of moving targets. Just before the thin film disappears, the vibrant colors start swirling faster and faster. Then the film becomes a black and white concoction. Catching the light has never been more fun!
