The Rainbow Box, by Designer/illustrator Norman Laliberté and author Joseph Pintauro.
This product is in mint condition, with possible exception of box itself which is still amazing, but with a sticker pull and hard to notice edge wear, but barely worn at all. Interior, books and poster appear brand new.
Produced in limited edition of 15,000, this consists of the box itself, four books—A Box of Sun, The Peace Box, The Rabbit Box and The Magic Box plus “The Peace Poster”, which says "Make the World Attractive to the Rest of the Universe" - which honors in art and poetry the four seasons plus the times of life. The idea was to present these four different subjects in individual books that were then put together in as colorful and as exciting a manner as the books themselves were. The concept of the cube represented the multifaceted views of time and life as presented within the books. To produce so many pages of color in a special package at a minimal price required the integration of the efforts of the poet, the artist and the printer to get maximum benefit at minimal dollar cost.
Special Features: The box itself was manufactured by The Box Shop, New Haven, Connecticut, who also assembled the pieces into the cubes and manufactured the color space interiors.

This image was produced from a series of original negatives used to promote the French Fleet of that era. Most of the negatives in this collection received retouching modifications for contemporary postcard or offset printing processes. The retouching was carried out to facilitate or improve the negatives tonal range for the printing process. Some enhancements such as fake clouds, waves, smoke and highlights might still be seen in this reproduction from those negatives.

Digital print has taken the world of printing by storm over the past few years. It’s now the go-to solution whenever anyone needs any type of printing. However, have you ever wondered why digital printing is so popular?
There’s only one place to begin when it comes to digital printers London, and this is the fact that you can benefit from cheaper printing. Before, offset printing was the popular solution, however, only big businesses could afford this. Luckily, this is something that you no longer need to worry about with digital printing.
You may be worried that something cheaper doesn’t produce the best results. Advances in digital printing over the years mean that it offers an exceptional level of quality. If you choose a print shop London way with care, there’s no way you will be disappointed with the results.
Speed is another benefit that cannot be overlooked. As there’s minimal press set-up, you can expect a quicker response time. This ensures that the printing process is simplified.
Plenty of business owners also prefer digital print because it’s the more economically friendly solution. This is because there’s no need for pre-press stages, as is the case with conventional printing methods.

18 x 24 print of No.7 for sale at ericfreitas.com.
The final invested time came to around 1000 hours. The piece weighs over 100 lbs, and put quite a dent in my bank account. Sometimes it was tough to keep going on this one. When you're all by yourself, working really hard on something in an almost obsessive way, you can start to doubt your sanity. Now that It's done my sanity, the expense, the acceptance of the design or the sellability of the piece are irrelevant. It's a huge personal success for me to see a project like this to the end, and I'm happy to have it in my house.
Trust me when I say that there isn't a photo possible that can replace the experience of visually exploring this one. I've taken a handful of shots, but there's details, inside and out, that some people may never notice. The element of this clock that really made my arm work, and really stole the hours away, was the plates. I've never (and may never again) carved up metal that thick before, and I've never poured that much contouring per-square-inch into a surface before. It was a lot of grinding, but the result is a frame that has the accuracy of machining, with the free formed contouring of a casting. On top of that, I discovered a new element during the creation process that I really like, and will use again in future pieces. It's the clusters of screws, accumulating in almost barnacle-like fashion throughout the frame. It really adds detail, and texture to the surface; and it contributes to blurring the line between organic repetition and mechanical repetition. What I've definitely found up to this point is that the two fit very nicely together; better than expected I think. While I may make things that are more clear in form or narrative in the future, I like that the look of this one is a little more cryptic. You can't perfectly piece together a clock that once was, and it's not very logical why a given area is growing or decaying; it all just sort of happens in this strange flow of implied change.
I took the time to get a really good straight on shot of this clock so that an 18 x 24 poster could be made. I didn't want to have to enlarge the image in photoshop, because you end up with a soft image, and I wanted all of the detail in the gears to show up nice and crisp. To get the proper resolution for offset printing that size the file needs to be over 7000 pixels wide. If you own a digital camera you're most likely aware of how huge that is. I had to rent some professional equipment to pull it off, but it came out great!
A print of a full image of the clock is available in the shop on my site.

This is a picture taken by my grandfather in 1965 of a traditional house found in Bangkok, Thailand. This picture reflects Thailand's culture through its distinct architecture. The Thai houses were built so the average person could walk casually underneath the house, where he or she would practice handicrafts. Crowded villages required that buildings be elevated but the elevated houses were extremely practical and useful, as they would utilize the extra space, protect families from floods and wild animals, and for storage space. The popular wide eaves are very common in Asian culture. Families of the Thai culture generally had an impressive garden, or at least a few green plants that were the highlight of the yard, as seen in this picture. The practicality of electricity and central cooling has removed many traditional features from houses, such as the roof being designed so the sun would be blocked during sunrise and sunset.
Thailand's population is considered to be one of the slowest growing in the world (with an average growth rate of less than one percent). Currently, of the sixty-five million residents of Thailand, many have moved away from the traditional houses on stilts to apartment complexes and western style suburban housing. While houses like the one pictured do still exist, they may become rarer and rarer due to the advancement of multiple housing units and Thailand's 0.3 percent population growth rate.

Chad Kouri loves paper. I might go so far as to call him The Collage Master. His work incorporates vintage ephemera, letterpress printing and found objects, which makes for a body of work that is at once tangible, nostalgic and visually spectacular. Find a bursting portfolio of Chad's work online at Long Live Analog, much of which lives happily in the interesting realm of digital-meets-analog. Geek out over projects such as his papercut desktop wallpaper for Kistune Noir, or his iPhone cases wrapped in digitized artwork of hand-cut vintage graph paper. Whoa.
Chad's Scout Book boasts a fantastic touch-and-feel, cut-and-paste quality. It makes me want to touch my computer screen.
12 Screenless Lithographs is a portfolio of 12 prints (image size: 7.5 X 9.5 inches) using a screening technique known as Integral Random Dot. Predating the digital stochastic or FM (Frequency Modulated) screening approach currently used by many offset printers in place of the traditional halftone dot, the Integral Random Dot embodies several distinctive characteristics.
As the name implies, the Integral Random Dot method of screening was truly random and responsive to the image itself—hence the “integral” in the name. In addition, the “dots,” or marks, varied in size in response to the image, unlike digital FM Screening where each “dot” is the same size but occurs in varying frequency (frequency modulated).
The primary drive behind developing a screenless (no halftone screen) approach was to more closely emulate the beauty of a continuous tone photographic print. In addition, eliminating the traditional halftone screen meant that the "rosette," a byproduct of the traditional halftone screen color printing, was also eliminated. Although creating the lithographic films used to expose the plates was a finicky and multi-generation process, it rendered the image being reproduced in a uniquely crisp and brilliant manner. While a few pioneering printing firms experimented with the technique in the early 1970s, it was far too unpredictable to gain a foothold in the commercial printing industry, where reliable reproduction trumped the unique beauty of an image printed without the use of a halftone dot.
In 1973 as a graduate student at Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York, however, I could afford to devote the time required to achieve exactly the results I wanted. The prints are duotones, that is, printed using two different color inks, which I intentionally altered to achieve maximum resonance for each of the twelve images in the portfolio. They were pulled on a flatbed offset proof press at VSW. Each print was dampened and rolled up by hand exactly the same as one would print from a lithographic stone. The portfolio was printed in a signed and numbered edition of forty. It is presented in a cloth bound case with a hand set letterpress printed title sheet and afterword explaining the technical details. The portfolio design, prepress, typesetting, and presswork was performed by the author.
12 Screenless Lithographs is in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago; Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris; Museum of Modern Art; National Gallery of Canada; U.C. Santa Cruz; and Visual Studies Workshop among others.

The French post has a very good reputation for art issues since 60s. Personally I prefer French early issued art stamps. At that time the level of design and the printing technique are quite excellent. I should agree that with the growth of different entertainment ways, the philately has lost many clients. That means potentially the post has lost incomes from postage. One way is considered because of development of computer network like Internet and email applications. And the same time the grave print costs more expensive and more time while offset printing is cheaper and widely used in stamps production. And Photoshop is widely used in stamps design. Considering these reasons, I think the French art stamps keep less quality than Czech and Slovakia today. These two countries have still very high quality for their grave art stamps.
I think this stamp is well printed. Not offset.

Jean-Jacques Henner (1829-1905)

Naming his P.S.1 project for Montezuma, the Aztec ruler who saw his empire devastated by the Spanish, is a clue (there are others) that the “intrusion” has something to do with the tangled narratives of conquest, colonialism, and missionary meddling that are a staple of human history. This unexpected content—history, war, life, death, home—is the stuff of epics: a powerful place for an artist to take his audience.
