The province of Nan is located in the north of Thailand and borders Laos. It is one of the lesser known provinces of Thailand, but is known for its natural beauty, rich culture and ancient history. It's a great place to visit if you're looking for adventure and relaxation in nature. Road 1256 passes through the mountains of Nan and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. Almost the most beautiful road in Thailand, the view on the side of the road is very beautiful, if you go during the rainy season, the atmosphere will be very good. You can see the green along the two sides of the road on the ridge. In some parts you can see the beautiful view of rice fields over the hills. It may be overgrown on some parts of the road. There are several interesting sights and activities to enjoy along the way. It's great for bird watching, camping, and hiking, and you're unlikely to meet many other people while exploring. You can also visit the Doi Phu Kha National Park, which is known for its beautiful waterfalls, lush forests and spectacular views. Wonderfully cool weather all year round. In addition, there are also several hill tribe villages along the way, where you have the chance to experience the local culture and traditions.

Somdet Phra Maha Muni Si Phu Kha Pagoda is a beautiful gem on top of a majestic mountain that lies at the beginning of the enchanting Doi Phu Kha National Park. This small pagoda is in an idyllic location with a beautiful view of the mountain peaks and a well-tended garden. At an altitude of no less than 1700 meters above sea level, the air is characterized by its freshness and clarity, resulting in a pleasant temperature of about 22 degrees Celsius. Staying in the mountains of Nan province offers travelers a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. It is also a great way to experience the local culture and the hospitality of the Thai people. The view of majestic mountains and scenic plantations surrounding Doi Phu Kha National Park is truly breathtaking. Also the majestic mountains in the distance is simply stunning and gives a sense of unprecedented freedom and grandeur. Photo of Samantha, Casper and BieJee at the viewpoint.

A spring day exploring the back roads and scenic byways in Baker County Oregon.

Spent the day enjoying the arrival of Spring in Baker County Oregon. Wildflowers are starting to bloom and birds are starting to arrive for spring migration. Spotted a few new arrivals including white crowns yellow headed, redwing, and brewer’s blackbirds, and found ourselves under the watchful eye of several Great Horned Owls.

The province of Nan is located in the north of Thailand and borders Laos. It is one of the lesser known provinces of Thailand, but is known for its natural beauty. Rice planting is one important agricultural activity in Thailand and it is part of the country's culture and traditions. The rice planting process in Thailand starts with preparing the soil. The farmers plow the soil to loosen it and provide it with nutrients. Then the rice seeds are planted in separate beds. After the seeds have germinated, the young rice plants are planted on the rice fields. These rice fields are usually arranged in terraces to better manage the water and ensure even irrigation. Planting rice is usually done manually, where the farmers manually put the rice plant into the ground. After planting, the fields are usually immersed in water to protect the rice plants from weeds and pests. After about 4 to 6 months, the rice is fully grown and ready to be harvested. After harvesting, the rice grains are washed and dried before being stored or sold at the market. Rice is an important source of food in Thailand and is used in many dishes from curries to fried rice dishes.

We were warmly welcomed to the enchanting farm stay ฮ้างนาตาจันทร์ in Pua, nestled in the middle of vast rice fields. As we immersed ourselves in the soothing atmosphere of Doi Phu Kha National Park, our senses were pampered with the lush green splendor of nature. It was a true oasis of serenity, where we could settle down and completely relax. The mornings started with a gentle breeze that greeted us as we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with fresh local produce. In the afternoon we cooled down at the nearby Tat Luang waterfall, a majestic waterfall that let its cool water flow into beautiful pools. In the evening, the moonlight lit up the rice fields like an enchanting spectacle. We basked in the stillness of the night, surrounded by a symphony of crickets and the soothing sounds of nature.

The desert is a fascinating location for photography. The word often brings images of drab featureless landscape, but that’s seldom true. The first Desert I officially visited in the United States was at the Joshua Tree National Park, which is home to the hotter Colorado desert to the east and a cooler but drier the Mojave Desert to the north. The Joshua Trees are endemic to the Mojave Desert ecosystem.

During my first visit, I had a sensory overload and had a terrible time getting good images. It's hard not to go for an apparent wide-pano shot that captures the vastness of the place. After quite a bit of repeated visits, I learned a secret, the photographic interest of the Desert is not the color of the golden hour but the texture of its elements. I also learned that the late evening or early morning light works better along with standard or short tele. A desert is one of the best places to break out your tele focal lengths.

Today's shot was taken at one of SoCal's signature desert landscapes, Fonts Point at the Anza Borrego Desert. We were hoping for sunset but had reached way earlier than anticipated. So, I spend some time playing around with focal lengths isolating some of the landmarks visible from our high vantage point.

Luosto is a scenic tourist destination located in the heart of Lapland, Finland. It is particularly popular for its beautiful natural environment, with extensive forests, hills and impressive scenery that attracts visitors in both winter and summer. Luosto is located in the middle of the rugged Lapland landscape. In winter, the forests are covered with a thick layer of snow and offer excellent opportunities for activities such as skiing, snowmobile tours and husky rides. The Pyhä-Luosto National Park is known for its spectacular fjells mountains and untouched nature. Hiking trails lead to the top of the Pyhä-Luosto Fjell, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness. Luosto is also home to one of the world's only active amethyst mines. Visitors can participate in guided tours and look for amethyst stones themselves, a unique and fun experience. Luosto is an excellent location to see the Northern Lights, especially during the,b>cold winter evenings when the sky is clear. The dancing lights are a magical spectacle that attracts many visitors. In addition to winter sports in Luosto, there are also cozy restaurants and accommodations to enjoy the local cuisine and relax after a day full of adventure. Luosto is a destination that will appeal to nature lovers and adventurers alike, offering a unique combination of Arctic wilderness and exciting outdoor activities. It is an ideal place to enjoy the peace and beauty of Lapland, away from the hustle and bustle of urban areas. Snowshoeing, also known as snowshoe trekking, is a winter activity where people wear special snowshoes to walk on deep snow without sinking in. These snowshoes distribute the person's weight over a larger surface area, making it easier to walk on soft snow. In Finnish, snowshoeing is called lumikenkäily. Lumi means snow and kenkä means shoe, so lumikenkäily literally refers to using snowshoes.

Luosto is a well-known tourist destination in Lapland, Finland, situated in the municipality of Sodankylä. It is celebrated for its stunning natural surroundings, winter activities, and the Pyhä-Luosto National Park. In January, daylight hours are very short due to the polar night, a phenomenon occurring in areas above the Arctic Circle, including Lapland. We embarked early in the darkness on our journey to Luosto. The snow here resembles an untouched white carpet, with trees draped in a thick layer of powder snow. Every step disrupts the serene silence of the snowy surroundings; the crunching sound of fresh snow under my hiking boots fills the air. The trees gently bend under the weight of the snow, and nature appears to be in a deep winter slumber. We plan to climb its spectacular fjells (mountains) and explore its pristine wilderness.

: Ancient stone archway along the trail to Katholiko Bay, Crete. The weathered structure stands on rocky ground, overlooking a rugged hillside that slopes toward the sea. Surrounded by sparse Mediterranean vegetation and framed by a partly cloudy sky, the scene evokes the island’s layered history and the raw beauty of its coastal wilderness.

The Gergeti Trinity Church, located in Georgia, is situated on a mountain top near the village of Gergeti, near Stepantsminda Kazbegi in the Caucasus region, at an altitude of about 2,170 metres. The first light of dawn in the foreground of the photo enhances the mystical character of the location, while the snow-capped peaks and the dark silhouettes of the church emphasize the dramatic atmosphere of the landscape. This area is popular with hikers and photographers for its breathtaking views and historical value. The impressive snow-capped peaks of Mount Kazbek in the background are illuminated by the golden glow of the rising sun. The Georgian Orthodox church was built in the 14th century and is a beautiful example of medieval Georgian architecture. The church is an important national symbol of Georgia and attracts many pilgrims and tourists every year. Behind the Gergeti Trinity Church lies Kazbek (in Georgian: მყინვარწვერი, Mkinvartsveri), with an altitude of 5,054 meters one of the highest and most famous mountains in Georgia and the Greater Caucasus. Although the mountain is hidden in this photo, Kazbek is known for its impressive presence and mythological significance. Kazbek is an extinct stratovolcano. The name Mkinvartsveri means the Icy Peak in Georgian. The mountain is popular among mountaineers and adventurers. The standard route for the ascent usually starts from Stepantsminda, with the Gergeti Trinity Church serving as the starting point. Kazbek is often covered in snow and ice, which adds to the spectacular and mysterious appearance of the region. On clear days, the summit offers beautiful panoramic views of the Caucasus.

Gergeti Trinity Church is a 14th-century church in Georgia, located at an altitude of 2,170 meters near the village of Gergeti. It is located near Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), overlooking the majestic Mount Kazbek in the Caucasus. The church is an important symbol of Georgia and attracts many pilgrims and tourists. Due to its remote location, it offers spectacular and mystical views of the mountains.

Off the beaten path refers to something or somewhere that is out of the way or out of a central, popular or touristy area. [idiom defined by yourdictionary.com]

best exemplified in Frost's poem

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

Close to the village of Arsha in the Kazbegi region lies the Arsha Waterfall, about five kilometers from Stepantsminda Kazbegi. The hike to the waterfall is considered easy and typically takes three to four hours. The trail is unpaved but well-trodden, surrounded by lush meadows, and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The waterfall is one of the lesser-known natural attractions in the area, contributing to its untouched and serene atmosphere. A bit further along is the Toti Waterfall, accessible via a steep trail that passes above the Arsha Waterfall. This waterfall offers spectacular panoramic views and is an ideal spot for a picnic. Visitors can enjoy the tranquility, the breathtaking nature, and even take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear water. For adventure seekers, it's possible to continue the hike to the nearby Gergeti Glacier, making the journey a full-day excursion.

The image depicts a farmhouse in a mountainous landscape near the Arsha Waterfall, close to the town of Arsha in Georgia's Kazbegi region. This area is renowned for its rugged wilderness, towering mountains, and traditional villages.

We had the pleasure of photographing these Falcons on our Adventure Photo Tour in Iceland. Something absolutely not on the itinerary, but a nice surprice.
